Posted on 11/05/2012 2:32:56 PM PST by wk4bush2004
I decided to create this thread, where those who would like can come and we can all pray here together for the victory of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in the general election.
Prayer is powerful and I invite all who desire to come here and post prayers.
We thank You for the large crowds, enthusiasm and energy among the electorate. We thank You for the victory that shall come. We thank You that Your Word says that the wicked will be taken away from before the king/government and we thank You that it is established in righteousness, in Jesus' Name.
We thank You for the voting that shall be taking place and we declare that it is free from electoral fraud, in Jesus' Name, and that the voting process will be smooth and without incident.
We thank You that Romney and Ryan will win in a landslide and that they shall win states that Republicans have not traditionally won, such as Pennsylvania and Michigan, and we thank You that other states like Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida will vote solidly for Romney, in Jesus' Name.
Thank You, Lord, for blessing America with new leadership with righteous men and women, in Jesus' Name, AMEN!
Praying ><> 2 Chronicles 7:14
We gather together to ask the Lords blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known;
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing;
Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.
Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine;
So from the beginning the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, were at our side, all glory be Thine!
We all do extol Thee, Thou Leader triumphant,
And pray that Thou still our Defender will be;
Let Thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy Name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!
Taking the kids to the Cathedral in Allentown(Pa)tonight for a special election mass. Their future, along with ours is in peril. May God Almighty have mercy on our nation.
A wonderful, inspired prayer.
This is posted outside the USA. I think this thread is very important. But for all of you in the United States of America, electing ONE person to fill the spot of President, won’t do much to turn the tide of the crumbling of American Foundations based on Principles. You need good Governors, Chief of Police, Judges, School teachers, students, CEO’s, sales executives. WHOEVER gets the electorate majority is going to have a large amassed collection of problems that have been accumulating, and no FIX is going to be easy. Ronald Reagan immediately taking office said, THINGS ARE GOING TO GET WORSE, and then they’ll start getting a little better. We do wish you well, and people in Mexico ironically on their FB pages are asking their friends and neighbors to pray. We support the prayer effort. May whoever that wins be giving a gift of reconciliation to the people who will loose.
Father in Heaven as you can see we, your people, your children acknowledge that you are our only source of strength and our Corner Stone, a sure Foundation. There is none like You. We your people have sinned mightily against thee and we come humbly in bended knees asking You for forgiveness. Please Lord, heal our land and answer our petition, favor Romney/Ryan tomorrow with a victory. Incline your ear to us Lord and hear our desperate prayer...in Jesus Name..Amen!
Prayers have been said for the leaders elected for the last 4 years, now prayers that the population comes to it’s senses before they lose everything!
Limited by the faltering sight of man, but fearing nonetheless for the future of our nation, I pray You see that there are still good men and women among us who have not turned their backs on You.
We are wounded and downtrodden as we have rarely been, and our light flickers uncertainly in a dark world. Without Your love and protection, it will surely fade entirely.
I am not divine, I am simply blessed with home, family, job, and a nation founded upon a tradition of faith and fidelity. A nation that acts as a force of good far more often than it is a catalyst for evil.
Tomorrow is a conclusion of one battle with uncertain consequences. I pray that with Your insight and wisdom that You allow to happen what must happen for this country to find You again and navigate the treacherous waters arrayed against us.
May Your will be done. But if it’s not too much to ask, some of us would prefer not to hit rock bottom before climbing back out of the well. Please grant us the leaders and the wisdom over the coming years to give our children a better world than we were inherited. To instill once again the values of love, hard work, personal responsibility, sacrifice, and patriotism, and goodness.
We are better than what we have become. I beg that you cast off the doubts and hatreds in our hearts and wake us up. Let tomorrow be the first day of a national re-awakening that carries us beyond the election cycle and into a new era of prosperity and brotherhood in which the scales fall from the eyes of the miguided, and we can move as one people back into Your light so that we may receive Your blessings once again.
Amen !!! Thank you for starting this thread as well :)
In the name of The Father, and The Son, and The Holy Spirit;
Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
And please, Dear God, grant us victory tomorrow on election day.
In the name of The Father, and The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
In the fashion of Nehemiah's prayer we ask for forgiveness of our many transgressions as people and may true repentance and turning from our wicked ways be found by You in our hearts as the Holy Spirit moves upon this continent in a Third Great Awakening, changing the course of this nation.
In this spirit, Dear Lord, grant us not an outcome of an election but a redirection of heart that this republic may do righteousness in the world and be a friend to the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob-- Your people Israel.
We are not seeking help from Baal nor any of his priests. We are seeking deliverance by the Hand of the King of all Kings-- the Lord Jesus Christ, Savior and Coming King--Amen
Give ear, oh God ..... we do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. We ask forgiveness as we have turned our back on You, Father. We ask for your mercy. In Jesus name, Amen.
I’ve been one of millions who has participated in 40 days of prayer for America leading up to this election.
My heart is weary, but hopeful as we head into the election.
Please hear our cry, O Lord, we admit our failings and how we as a nation have turned our back on you.
We have removed you from our town squares, we have removed you from our schools, and we have removed the reverence for you our forefathers established this nation on.
Father, we ask for your mercy to fall down on us, as we repent of our sin of allowing the innocent to be slaughtered through abortion, our sin of permissiveness toward sexual immorality, and our sin of allowing you to be mocked and profaned in our culture.
Lord, we pray that you would hear our prayers to restore integrity to the political offices of this land and to the men and women who occupy those offices.
Father we ask that you would remember us as we begin to remember you again. We thank you for this country you have placed us in. This unique political setting in which we are allowed to chose our leaders. Thank you for giving us this freedom.
Father, we pray that none who love you and love this country would fail to vote, but they would move any mountain that gets in the way in order to get to the voting booth.
Father, we pray that tomorrow, our fellow patriots would be successful in fighting the evil that has become pervasive in our government. Father, we pray the integrity of the vote would be upheld.
Thank you for loving us. Thank you for your forgiveness.
In Jesus’ name
God Bless America.
Dear Lord: Please let all the honest votes count, and disqualify the frauds.
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
Please be with all the candidates and their families tomorrow and also after the election be they democrat or republican—liberal or conservative. Give them strength and grace to face the tide of this election. As always Lord Your will and Your mercy on this nation of ours.
Over the years he had answered many of my prayers though I have not asked for trivial favors or for something I would not consider within his purview, such as winning the lottery.
Prayer to St Anthony:
For those so inclined, feel free to use this prayer.
“Thy Name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!”
We trust in you
Divine Mercy, repose of hearts, peace amidst fear:
We trust in you
Divine Mercy, unfathomed in all the mysteries of God:
We trust in you
God our Father: you who are Mercy itself: forgive us our sins. Do not look on our evil and estranged hearts but upon the sorrowful passion of Your Son. Take pity on our land and turn us back toward Yourself.
+ We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord. Amen. +
Thank you for the thread.
Father God, we know, as a country, we don’t deserve your mercy. Your presence has been rejected in public life and, by many, in private life as well. The Christian heritage of this nation has been watered down, and some would have it disappear altogether.
But there are still those of us who love You and worship You, and we ask for your mercy on our country, not because we are worthy, but through Your divine mercy and grace. We ask you to banish the current administration, with its hatred of Your beloved Israel, its love of false gods, its support for perversion, and its cold absence of love. Father, we humbly ask that You visit justice on these people, and remove them from government tomorrow.
We thank you and praise you in advance for the outcome. All praise in heaven and earth belongs to you, Lord. Glory to the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
We are a stiff-necked, hard-hearted and foolish people; we have forgotten your blessings to us, presumed to know your world better than you, spent our inheritance, embraced debauchery, followed our own selfish wishes and scorned those of others. We have puffed ourselves up with pride anchored in frivolity and vanity. We have become lazy and cowardly. We have forgotten the labors and sacrifices of all who went before, who carved from wilderness the greatest, most abundant and free-est land in history. Again and again we have rejected you and refused to see your hand in all that we now take for granted.
We do not deserve your help, but we beg that once again you might grant us one more chance. We pray that you will send us competent, God-fearing, humble leaders— ones who will seek truth, justice and peace, make a good example to all, provide a path to a future, and re-establish this country as the world’s greatest hope.
But, if this is not to be, strengthen and soften our hearts and help us to accept your will and not be bitter in our disappointment.
Help us trust in your provision for us, which we can never fully comprehend.
Thank You, Lord, in advance for the victory that is upon us! Thank You, Lord, that Mitt Romney has won this election in a landslide and we thank You that states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Virginia, Florida and others are voting for Romney, in Jesus’ Name!
We stand in courage and of good cheer, for Your Word says that You have overcome the world and greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world! We thank You, Lord, for Your Awesome Power and we thank You that You have awakened a sleeping giant, the American people. You have awakened us to the truth and the fact that we are dependent upon You and we can’t exist without You.
We thank You and praise You, Lord, for the victory...that Mitt Romney is our President and Paul Ryan is our Vice President........that the Republican Party is in the majority in both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, in Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
We pray for those of our number who are suffering from loss, physical illness and spiritual sickness.May the peace only You can provide ease their pain.
In this and all things , we pray in the name of the Holy Lamb Of God, Jesus the Christ.
Prayer for the Nation
~~ by Thomas Jefferson, taken from “Prayers for Today,” published by Leaflet Missal Co.
Almighty God, You have given us this good land for our heritage. We humbly ask You that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Your favor and glad to do Your will. Bless our land with honorable endeavor, sound learning and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties and fashion into one united people the multitude brought here out of many nations and tongues. Endow with the Spirit of wisdom those to whom in Your Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to Your law we may show forth Your praise among the nations on earth. In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble do not allow our trust in You to fail. Amen.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on us! AMEN!
Just got back from Mass. Huge crowd in the big ole’ Cathedral, the priest was surprised. Great homily on the intrusion of government. We sang “God Bless America” at the end, people applauded. God be with us!
Domine, salvam fac rem publicam tuam
et exaudi nos in die qua invocaverimus te.
Lord, save your Republic
and hear us when we cry to Thee
The Latin and English might be a bit off but the basic sentiment is right.
