"...His approach to social justice has emphasized spiritual growth as the rock of a compassionate world rather than turning for answers to economic theory".

Pro-life, against homosexual marriage and homosexual adoptions, against communism and marxism, and thinks social justice is more about being a good Christian and helping the poor rather than a basis for leftist economic theory.

There’s a huge difference between Marxist ‘social justice’ which uses the poor as props and human shields in their trojan horse rise to totalitarian power, versus the Book of James type of Christian ‘social justice’ of making sure the weak and poor in your community are taken care of thru dedication, sacrifice, and vigilance as an expression of faith.

Who do these jerkweeds think they’re kidding?

It’s Pope Francis, not Pope Francis I. Until there’s a Francis II, no numeral follows his name.

A lot of the media is doing it today...it’s understandable because so many popes choose names of prior popes.

I like it that Pope Francis starts with a perfect expression of how we should care for the poor - through voluntary charity. Too many clerics prefer to do it in an unChristian way - steal from some at gunpoint, subtract a fat “cut” to further goobermint power, and dribble out cultural dependency.

Sounds like the cardinals made a good choice.
