In an interview today with Swampland Jimmy Carter, the second worst president in US history, said the failure of the Catholic Church to ordain women was human rights abuse. He also compared the Catholic Church to Islam. and Acts of Apostasy reported, via Free Republic:
Its not news when irrelevant people spout irrational opinions, because it happens nearly all the time, but hey its been a slow day.
Lets get right to it. This week the Carter Centers Mobilizing Faith for Women conference will ask the question, Can religion be a force for womens rights instead of a source of womens oppression? Whats your answer?
Well, religion can be, and I think theres a slow, very slow, move around the world to give women equal rights in the eyes of God. What has been the case for many centuries is that the great religions, the major religions, have discriminated against women in a very abusive fashion and set an example for the rest of society to treat women as secondary citizens. In a marriage or in the workplace or wherever, they are discriminated against. And I think the great religions have set the example for that, by ordaining, in effect, that women are not equal to men in the eyes of God.
This has been done and still is done by the Catholic Church ever since the third century.....

Quite a few on a different thread.
I truly hate these PC types. PC = Pro Commmunist.
If Jimmy Carter played Major League baseball, he’d be the captain of the 1962 Mets.
Jimmy Carter? Is he still alive?
If he’s not the worst President of all times, he is the most obnoxious.
Then Chico Escuela would have written about him instead of Ed Kranepool.
He’s no longer the worst, but he’s definitely obnoxious.
Well he’s still the worst Ex-President, for now.
He used to be a strong voice against abortion.
More theological incontinence from Jimmah the Buffoon, but other Demonrats will no doubt try to throw it into the political fan to their advantage.
Wasn’t his presidency a human rights abuse?
Crazy Jimmy is having more and more ‘Lust in his heart’ as he gets older. He’ll say most anything to get a piece — or was that ‘peace?
“the worst Ex-President”
For now :-D
But Jimmy doesn’t complain about Islams hatred of women
“If hes not the worst President of all times,..”
I am anxiously sitting here awaiting those practicing Liberal Catholics, Pelosi, Biden and their minions to come out and put J Carter in his place.
He has a ‘cross hair’ up his arse that is bothering him because he knows his place in history will be lost forever when the present occupier of the White House is escorted out of town, hopefully on a rail, in cuffs.
“As you may or may not know, the Southern Baptist Convention back now about 13 years ago in Orlando, voted that women were inferior....”
Sure they did. Right. That’s what it was, for sure. Yeah.
“This has been done and still is done by the Catholic Church ever since the third century, when the Catholic Church ordained that a woman cannot be a priest for instance but a man can.”
I wonder what he thinks this gibberish means.
There is a certain advantage in not feeling constrained to think about anything beyond your own experiences and predilections when you speak. The drawback, of course, is that you only resonate with the similarly self-absorbed.
The word senile fits the bill.
Carter’s Baptists take the cake in subjugating women.
Who knew? Billy really was the smarter one! And had the grace to let the American people be at a mere 51 years.
Women already have equal rights in the eyes of God. God made us male and female for a reason. Difference among genders isn't inequality among genders, though some will claim such for political purposes.
Is there anything this man gets right? James Earl Carter, bumbling along since ‘76...
"In October 2000, Carter again made headlines with his widely-publicized decision to leave the Southern Baptist Convention. Carter sent out over 75,000 letters to Southern Baptist churches nationwide explaining his decision."
"In April 2006, Carter, former-President Bill Clinton and Mercer University President Bill Underwood initiated the New Baptist Covenant."
“For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26-28)
Jimmah’s a BINO (Baptist in name only).
That was my first thought. Why doesn’t he say something about them? Is he scared?
Nope, we Baptists do not claim that nut. He is no more one than the man in the moon. Well, who knows about the moon man?
I am a Baptist and do not know where you get that idea? Just how are we subjugated?
Don’t blame me
He left my tribe in disgust at our racism years back
Carter is a real pendejo
Yep. I was changing channels earlier tonight when i came across a show about Jim Jones. The MC said he had denied Jesus existed and claimed that name for himself. I knew JJ was off his rocker but had no idea about that claim. How can people be taken in by someone like him? I just do not understand.
Because it's easier to let someone else do the thinking and just sit back and be told what to believe. When certain men insert themselves between that which "is a discerner of the thoughts and INTENTS of the heart" (a heart which we do not fully know and is deceitfull ABOVE ALL things and desperately wicked!)and those coming to God with their truck load of baggage then bad things can happen. When we take up the Sword of the Spirit the first person it slays is the bearer! The deceitfull (above all things) and wicked human heart knows this and would rather a steady diet of carnal commands.Where itself can remain in control, judging and weighing things the same way it always has, better that than death.
Jesus said believing was WORK.
Guess I learned to think for myself from all the reading I have done since learning how to. I learned to decide for myself what was right and wrong. Grew up going to church 3 times a week. When I was in 5th grade, we could memorize verses or chapters of the Bible. If we did so many, we got a Bible. In high school, the students led a devotional and said a prayer. People today do not read like I did, so they hae no idea what is true and what isn’t. They just take the word of some character on a power kick. Is that why there are dems? It seems they have no idea of how to decide the truth. They want to be spoon fed. Am I making any sense? It is 4 here.
I won,t say nothing bad about any one but Lily Carter still has the biggest boobs in America, and Jimmy is one of them.
that nasty old sinner, by his own admission he lusted after women in his heart shouldn’t be throwing stones at other christians...he should remember that old saying.....let he who is without sin cast the first stone.....senile jerk.
Jimmah rose from obscurity to fame, and fell back to obscurity in four years. He fell so fast because he was a senile old fool. He is even more of a senile old fool now. The Catholic church has been prominent in the world for two millennia. Whom do you want to believe, Jimmah, or the Pope?
I only ask because none of the Baptists I know best and respect (my dear in-laws) are "Carter's Baptists".
That was the first comment I’ve ever had removed since ‘99.May I ask why?
Faith cometh by hearing so whatever youre hearing the most youll trust the most. Its why propaganda works.
It amazes me as well that people seem to be happy to be spoon fed rather than buy that field and get to digging.
It was when I started reading the Bible I started to question everything AND everyone. In particular the numbskull in the mirror!
Belonging seems to be a powerfull motivator amongst humans but it also shows our un-wholeness for ourselves and all to see.No doubt satan plays this to great advantage over people.Killing, stealing and destroying that which someone else deemed precious enough to lay down His very life for!
