Thomas Williams, the onetime public face of the disgraced Legion of Christ religious order who left the priesthood after admitting he fathered a child, is getting married this weekend to the child's mother, The Associated Press has learned. The bride is the daughter of former U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Mary Ann Glendon, one of Pope Francis' top advisers.

There was a married couple in my hometown who were formerly a priest and a nun. They left to marry each other.

Fr. Williams committed a wrong while he was still a priest and then he didn’t own up to it. But, he’s owning up to it now and is marrying the woman.

If the priest has been properly laicized, and the woman doesn't have any other putative marriages, there is no reason why they couldn't be married.

I had that problem until I ran into a Cherokee who fell for me.

Even before we were married she threw out the stripper I was living with and convinced me to stop working as a bouncer at a strip joint.

Now though, after thirty-two years of marriage and a lot of rough miles, it's not a problem. In fact, the last thing that threw itself at me was a possum charging into the road in front of my truck. The wife ran it over so I know she still cares.

I know nothing of the faith practices/beliefs, moral behaviors, or background of Marianne’s daughter, but Glendon, herself, is a class act and a fighter for every conservative interest.

Glendon joined every other US ambassador to the Vatican in exposing the nefarious and unnecessary Obama move to remove our embassy in the Vatican into the shadow of the Italian state embassy. She likely led the charge but I can’t confirm it.
