A church in the US state of Virginia has taken the bizarre decision to allow its congregation to attend services in the nude.

Pastor Allen Parker, the leader of White Tail Chapel in the town of Southampton, said he came to the decision to allow naked worship after concluding the clothing requirements of other churches were overly 'pretentious',

Speaking to CNN, Mr Parker said: 'When he [Jesus] was born he was naked, when he was crucified he was naked and when he arose he left his clothes in the tomb and he was naked.'

'If God made us that way, how can that be wrong?' he added.

You know, when I was typing that I though, "I bet Alex has an article about nudist priests." Ah, the Lord works in mysterious ways. :O)

But I found this quote in your article interesting:

'Father Foster confided that he often celebrates Mass in the nude. 'I'm a naturalist, I'm a nudist. I like to say Mass in the nude, too. If God doesn't like that sorry.'

That seems to be a typical attitude today-do what we want to do, not what God would expect of us. And then if God doesn't like it, too bad. Or, as in the case of these people, make up theology to satisfy our needs. This is what idolatry is all about.
