She said that while they did tell her that everything went well-She learned that there were some complications during the operation. They were able to successfully resolve them , but these left him weaker.
In the first hours after the procedure- He had several very frightening episodes, but, again, they were able to resolve them. Thank You Jesus.
The complications were not entirely unexpected, because of his fragility and multiple disabilities to begin with. This was never going to be an "easy" surgery.
The great news-Thanks Be To God-is that he did come through it OK, and that most of the problems have been taken care of.
He is still on a vent, but was able to be off it for a little while today. He was able to sit up which is something he's never been able to do.
There is some concern about the surgery "taking" up by the top part of his spine/neck due to his bones being weaker in that area ,but, so far, so good.
He is still having a lot of pain. They are managing it as best they can.
Overall she said he is doing better and better each day.
One of the doctors told her he might even be able to go home in a week or two.
