Why are you praying to Mary when the Lord and the Holy Spirit are filling your heart and directing your way?

And don't tell me you don't know what I am talking about with that.

a lot of times what Protestants and other non-Catholics forget is that we have two parts — body and soul. Yes, the body dies.

The soul is then bound for heaven, hell, or Purgatory.

Mary was assumed into heaven (witnessed by the apostles — you’ll have to read some of the Early Church Fathers here — LOL!)body and soul. She hears our prayers.

Have you had a parent or a grandparent die? Do you ever talk to them/with them? That’s what we do with Mary and the saints.

Who said Mary was above Christ?

You need to stop believing those pamphlets and phony preachers who hate Catholics. But that would be your decision, not mine.

I rarely post on these type of threads but I would just like to say to everyone be not quick to judge.

I am not of the Catholic faith but my biological father was and many of my closest friends as I was growing up were practicing Catholics. When I was very young my Grandmother (on my father’s side) shared her faith with me though my mother’s parents who were Protestant allowed very few visits I knew she was truly sincere about religion. Most non-Catholics that try to dissuade faithful Catholics from the Catholic Church cannot begin to understand what it is to be born, and raised in a Catholic home - Listen to me it is like you are asking a Catholic to cut off a limb or maim or kill a loved one to betray their Church. I have seen some of the greatest love, honor and sincerity in Catholic homes. Whether you agree with them or not, God loves the Catholic Church and his people who belong to it.

Its doubtful that what I have to say will keep people from making derogatory posts on threads about Mary or the Rosary. Some people criticize the Catholics for worshiping icons - but maybe they should examine themselves if they are bowing down to the image of their own opinions or self-righteousness. Jesus said Have Mercy on one another as God has mercy on you. Maybe not verbatim but you know what I mean.

Yours is one of the nicest posts I have ever read. You almost have me in tears because you nailed it. Some people of other faiths do not understand the depth of a Catholic’s beliefs. It is part of my body and soul, and I will never change. I would die before I would ever betray the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

An interesting book I just finished reading was a commentary of sorts on the movie, “The Greater Glory” about how the ruler of Mexico killed over 200,000 Catholics and tried to destroy the Catholic faith and religious freedom in Mexico. It’s a warning to us that such may be the case in the United States currently.

God bless you and have a wonderful weekend.

As an aside, I love you in Christ and am sorry that we disagree but thanks to you for the opportunity to express what the Holy Spirit in my heart tells me to say.

Much love from here to you.

Good night.

You commune with the dead and say that it is okay because Mary is a goddess.

You also do so with the Saints.

We are admonish not to commune with the dead. Do I need to tell you which Scriptures (plural) that include this admonishment? Or has that Scripture been superseded by papal edict.

I am not anti-Catholic, I am pro-Truth.

Believe me, the Protestants are not exactly free from heresy either.

That said, the Lord stands alone ahead of us. Not Catholic, not Protestant...but there he is.

And here He comes.

Thanks your reply was very sweet. I will always remember a certain family from St. Pius X in Dallas, Tx and the positive influence they had on my life. I was always welcomed and treated like a member of the family. Good memories.

Salvation ... I love you my friend, and we have had many good back and forths in the past when we have crossed threads, but this teaching here just isn’t right.

For us to pray or ask intercession from any one else then what was recorded in His Word is terribly wrong.

Christ Jesus instructed us on how to pray to “Our Father who art in Heaven”, and He also instructed us to pray in His Name only too.

I haven’t re-read the wedding feast passage as of late, but if Mary told them peeps back then to do whatever He says, meaning to do whatever Christ Jesus says, then think about that statement very deeply ...

Because Christ Jesus said and stated clearly on how we should pray ... Then let us do what Christ Jesus told us to do, just like Mary said we should, and not what others have added to it, long after the fact.

Also on that intercession replacement theory ...
It is the Blood of Christ Jesus that was shed on that cross, not Marys, or anybody else.

It is His Sacrifice that paid the ransom to set us free from the chains of death, and tore the veil that separated us from the Father, and that opens and gives us a Way to our Heavenly Father in His most Holy place.

It is also only Christ Jesus who became our High Priest to come before our Heavenly Father in prayer, and there is no other Way under the sun, nor is there any other Name in which we can come unto the Father, except in the name of Christ Jesus, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

His Word is clear dear Salvation ... there is no other Way to the Father. Please, please, please, understand these things that He has told us, and not what others keep saying about other ways and other names to pray and come by in.

The Rosary is POWERFUL.

///////////////
If so, is the power truly of God? Or, perhaps, of another source?

As a former Roman Catholic, I have to say that, in my view, you are probably making a distinction without a difference.

You nailed it. Much affection to any who might have been offended by this man's truth...but here it is.

Read it and weep...or rejoice!

Should have said “Last recorded miracle” before the Crucifixion. Thanks for catching that mistake.

Thank you Lord for your sweet Spirit in my heart and soul!

Consider that that wasn't a mistake but something lacking in your approach to God.

He is waiting to fill your heart and soul with His Holy Spirit.

If this had already happened, your response would have been something different...something more ebullient!

Something not from you...but from Him.

He isn't a matter of Church...He is a matter of Spirit.

I think He is here now...waiting to fill yours.

He loves you more than you can imagine. In fact, it will blow your mind.

He is not just our Lord...He is also our Sweetheart!
