Pelosi says she received a rosary blessed by
Pope Francis from Obama at lunch today

Obama met Pope Francis at the Vatican for the first time last week.

Pelosi, a Catholic, has been criticized for her support of abortion — a practice which she has called “sacred ground” — by other Catholics.

Last year, a Vatican official in Rome said that the California lawmaker should be denied communion.

“This is a person who obstinately, after repeated admonitions, persists in a grave sin — cooperating with the crime of procured abortion,” Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke said in an interview with The Wanderer.

Pelosi met with Pope Benedict XVI in 2009, and according to a report in Politico at the time, the Pope spoke with her about the sanctity of life and blessed some rosaries for her grandchildren’s confirmation...

If the Holy Father had intended to give Pelosi rosary beads he would have done so when she had an audience with him during her last visit.

I would not be surprised if he told her she should NOT receive communion.

The *itch should’ve been given an excommunication for her support of abortion. JMHO

Of any person I know of who desperately NEEDS a Rosary, it’s Nancy Pelosi.

What she needs is a pink slip from the Church!

Since burning stakes are out of fashion. /sarc

I suspect some Obummer flunkie bought souvenirs at the Sisters of Souvenirs stand on St. Peters Square. The Sisters state the rosaries have been blessed by the Pope.

Politically he just gave away a gift from the Pope which is a slap in the face to the Pope and he did not even wait long to do it.

Very interesting political move but it will never get discussed in the media.

No, i really do believe that they were given to him by the Pope’s men at the meeting. It’s a token routinely given.

Sorry to hear about your experience with your paternal unit. St Paul wrote about your dad as a noisy gong, a clanging cymbal, he has not love. You bear an enormous cross. Please pray for your dad, he missed the message and has hurt many, he will have to answer for that.

A rosary is the standard gift from the Pope, even to a non-Catholic.

By the Pope’s men, not the Pope himself. And I guarantee you that if it did happen Obummer didn’t run up to the Pope and ask him to bless it. There is also no mention of a rosary being given by the Pope to the nassisist-in-chief in the official lists of exchanged gifts, which consisted of two medalians from the Pope and a copy of his apostolic exhortation, “The Joy of the Gospel”. This is much ado about nothing.

yes that was my point, did you read my original post? it IS much ado about anything. it is standard practice with papal audiences and was nothing special to Obama and the Pope had no inkling that Obama would pass it on to Pelosi. I despise the guy as much as anyone here, but i can’t even fault him for giving the rosary to Pelosi. He knows she’s catholic and figured it would mean more to her so he gave it to her.

Because it is a small item of little secular value (but enormous spiritual value), it does not fall under the gift law.

Is this also included in the public audiences that take place I believe on Wednesdays?

He's got no use for anything Holy, being the student and follower of Satan.

yes, my meeting with Pope Benedict was after the Wednesday public audience. We were permitted to line up immediately after the cardinals to meet him and to kiss his ring. As we left the dais, one of the Pope’s men [I’m sure there is a name for them but i do not know it] was passing rosaries from a small basket.

I remember late last summer, during a day trip pilgrimage to the Divine Mercy Shrine up in MA, my then, now retired archbishop gave out to each of use a gift rosary which was blessed by Pope Francis while he was in Rome.

If this arrogant ass was given a rosary he had to ask for it. It was nothing official and not worth mentioning in the press. If he was given a rosary by the Pope himself, that he had just blessed, it would have been news right along with the gifts that were presented to the creep. Like I say he might have got a dollar rosary somewhere, the ones that are passed out like candy, but the Pope didn’t give it to him.
