Are We Living in the End Times?

In the fundamentalist Bible church I attended as a child we would regularly have long sermons about the “end times”. These were based on an interpretative system of the Bible called “Dispensationalism”.

The roots of this theology were the idea that history could be broken down into various “dispensations” or time periods and that God behaved differently and different things happened to the human race in these different dispensations. Part of this teaching was that the “rapture” would take place in which all the Christian people would be supernaturally whisked up into heaven and the sinners would remain behind. Thus the “Left Behind” series of books and films.

I don’t think they will be asking questions at that point! The singing will be too loud for that! ;-)

Yes, I believe we are. There are just too many signs to ignore. I feel sorry for our Catholic and leftist "Christian" FR friends, who have no clue about the signs of the times, much less the timeline for Revelation. They believe that Christ will come back BAM without the timeline of Scripture.

SOME REASONS IN AND FOR THE END!

1960s

The 1960s brought change. The changes affected education, values, lifestyles, laws, and entertainment. Many of the revolutionary ideas which began in the sixties and are continuing to evolve today. Also many of those running our country today are counted from the “Swinging Sixties”

More and more women in the 1960s were being educated at
universities and more were beginning careers. Woman’s protest movements began in the 1960s asking for equal rights for women.

And those equal rights have had abortion as part of those woman’s rights.

“Those rights added up from 292 abortions in the United States in 1960 to 1,212,350 in 2008” from stats by Wm. Robert Johnston.1

Ask the aborted if they had equal rights?

As St Paul states: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal”. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. Love is the answer. Today’s families lack love and many of those families are “clanging cymbals”.

We in Pennsylvania and Mifflin-Juniata Counties are numbered
among the lowest in divorce and abortion. Our families tend to stay together and these families believe “Sirac 2-1-16,
How blessed is the husband of a really good wife; the number of his days will be doubled and 16 Like the sun rising over the mountains of the Lord, such is the beauty of a good wife in a well-run house”

Men and women not men with men!

They also believe:

Genesis - Chapter 1-27-28

“1 -26 God said, ‘Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the ground.’
1-27 God created man in the image of himself, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.
1-28 God blessed them, saying to them, ‘Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven and all the living creatures that move on earth.’

In the beginning God created heaven and earth. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her” Children can’t when aborted!!

If the current politicos are upset then what must the Black Community be? According to the Guttmacher Institute 69% among blacks abort their babies. The President’s supported
Planned Parenthood’s history has Margaret Sanger saying about her speech to the Klu Klutz Klan: “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan...I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses...I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak...In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.”
(Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366)

1) Her other statements include “We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The
most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”
2) “Eugenic sterilization is an urgent need … We must prevent multiplication of this bad stock.”
3) “Our failure to segregate morons who are increasing and multiplying … demonstrates our foolhardy and extravagant sentimentalism … [Philanthropists] encourage the healthier and more normal sections of the world to shoulder the
burden of unthinking and indiscriminate fecundity of others; which brings with it, as I think the reader must agree, a dead weight of human waste. Instead of decreasing
and aiming to eliminate the stocks that are most detrimental to the future of the race and the world, it tends to render them to a menacing degree dominant … We are paying for, and even submitting to, the dictates of an ever-increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all.”

1. “Negroes and Southern Europeans are mentally inferior to native born
Americans”
2. 3. “More children from the fit, less from the unfit.”
3. 4. “…apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is already tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted tooffspring.”

Year 2013 media headlines told the plight of American society today:

“In 2012, Los Angeles reported 298 homicides.” “There are an alarming number of deaths in US jails.” “Gun rampage in southern Louisiana leaves four dead including shooter.”
“Newtown shooting report to be released by Connecticut state police.” “LAX shooting suspect pleads not guilty on 11 counts” “Colorado student injured in school shooting dies.”
“Violent crime rises for second consecutive year. Found that 26 of every 1,000 people

No offense taken. Personally I think we are in the end times. If God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for all kinds of evil and wickedness, what does He have in store for us. The decline of Christian morality in Western Civilization is 1000 times worse than the wickedness of Sodom or Gomorrah. We have turned our backs on God and He will not be mocked.

I just wrote the following on another thread about Muslims, the Middle East and Israel, and about is living “at the end” of the “last days” ... at which time Jesus, the Messiah of Israel, returns and goes to WAR. with all who oppose him on earth, and sets up his earthly Kingdom, ruling over all the nations of the world, from Jerusalem. The person I was responding to didn’t seem to think we could possibly know whether we were actually in that time period at which time Jesus returns.

— — — — —

The “bias” here is not accepting what God does say about the situation. We are told that Israel will be regathered this one more time, in the land. Israel is in the process right now of regathering in the land, while the Muslims are intent on pushing them out of the land. They see their presence there as a slap in the face to their false god, Allah. It “puts the lie” to their false religion to have Israel in the land. Of course, that’s one purpose of God regathering them back to the land - to “put the lie” to their false religion.

With Muslims’ numbers and power in that region and their extreme animosity to Israel’s existence in this area of overwhelming Muslim population and domination - Israel cannot survive in normal human terms - in the long-range, more than a few decades, if even that long.

The USA has been a protector and backer of Israel being in the land for quite a while now and that balances the power there, against the Muslims. It’s clear now that the support for Israel is waning in the USA, overall and politically. You can even see that here on this forum. Those types who want the USA to back out of “having Israel’s back” and just let Israel “take care of itself, on it’s own.”

It will come to the point where the USA no longer has Israel’s back, and Israel will not be able to hold off the hoards of Muslims, who are right there in their own lands, surrounding Israel. Israel would be defeated and run off the land, in normal human terms.

HOWEVER, God makes it clear that He will intervene on Israel’s behalf and that Israel will not be run off another time and regathered back the fifth time around, back to the land or the sixth time around, or some infinite time around. God regathers them back into the land this time and He protects them supernaturally, in a way that no one else or any nation or even themselves can do ... so that the whole world recognizes that it is God and God alone who fights on Israel’s behalf (and we haven’t seen that yet).

This intent of the Muslims to rid the land of Israel won’t go on for another fifty years or 100 years, thus putting off the hand of God in protecting Israel. It’s this very thing of the impending demise of Israel which will drive the people to call out to the Messiah of Israel to save them - and save them He does, just like God says He will.

You are NOW in the “time of the end” (i.e., that particular time period of the Messiah’s second coming) and so ... you should recognize the soon coming of the Messiah of Israel, just like He said the people of his time before, were supposed to have recognized his coming them (almost two thousand years ago). He said they should have recognized the time. You should recognize the time now.

The vast majority of people who are on this earth will be the ones living through this time of His return - whether you or I individually are still here or not (as any individual one of us can die tonight in his or her sleep, or whatever else may happen).

We are told to recognize that time of his coming just like you would read the weather and recognize that a storm is coming (you know that storm isn’t a thousand years away, but is right around the corner).

If you live long enough, and you don’t get killed in the process of the things to come you will be seeing the return of the Messiah of Israel to this earth!

Maranatha!

We’ve been in the “end times” since Peter and his first sermon. But, what people really want to know is if we are “AT THE END” of the end days. For that, I would say that we are definitely in that end period of the “end days”.

YOUR GUESS WORK IS AS GOOD AS ANY BUT I CAN ONLY GO WITH

Mark 13:32

But of that day and that hour no one knows, no, not even the angels who are in the heaven, neither the Son, but only the Father.

MATHEW 36-41

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

Christ said he would return on “the last day”, to judge the living and the dead. There will be no secret or hidden coming in the meantime. If you are alive when the Lord returns, you’ll definitely know about it.

None of my content debated the Tribulation, only the notion of “Rapture” sparing some from it.

Well, then you've two problems. That nasty, "wrath" problem and that irritating "thief" versus 'lightning" problem.

Have fun.

In John 17:15 Christ says, “I do not pray that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from the evil one”.

John 16:33 says, “In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 15:19 says that Christians have been chosen “out of the world,” but it does not say that Christians will be ‘taken’ out of the world, prior to a time of persecution.

The Church will endure persecutions and tribulations and it will come through them purified.

I have ZERO “problems”:

“Rev. 12, John’s vision of the woman clothed with the sun, captures the essence of the Book of Revelation. With many layers of meaning, it shows a past event prefiguring an event far off in the future. It recaps the Old Testament as it completes the New. It reveals heaven, but in images of earth.”

“John’s vision begins with the opening of God’s temple in heaven, “and the ark of His covenant was seen within the Temple” (Rev 11:19). Perhaps we can’t fully appreciate the shock value of that line. The Ark of the Covenant had not been seen for five centuries. At the time of the Babylonian captivity, the prophet Jeremiah had hidden the ark in a place that “shall be unknown until God gathers His people together again: (2 Mac 2:7)”

“That promise is fulfilled in John’s vision. The Temple appeared, “and there were flashes of lightning, loud noises, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.” And then: “A great portent appeared in heaven , a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; she was with child” (Rev 12:1-2)”

“John would not have introduced the ark, just to drop it immediately. I believe that when John describes the woman, he is describing the ark—of the New Covenant. And who is the woman? She is the one who gives birth to the male child Who will rule the nations. The child is Jesus; His mother is Mary.”
