Absolutely and completely wrong. As a matter of fact, damnably wrong...loss of salvation wrong.
What homosexuals engage in is best described as sodomy. God does not sodomize His creation and call it love.
She is not justifying sodomy, she's saying why she's against sodomy. She does not at any point imply that sodomy could be part of Christian friendship!
She's chaste. Without evidence, you've judged her otheerwise. I hope you're properly abashed.
Now go back and read the article.
“Both opposite-sex and same-sex love are used, in the Bible, as images of Gods love.”
You didn’t even read the article, or the excerpt, before damning people to Hell, did you?
same-sex love = FRIENDSHIP. One man laying his life down for another, etc.
Is that your thing? Judging the crap out of people on a whim?
You obviously did not read the rest of her statement:
"The opposite-sex love is found in marriagesexually exclusive marriage, an image which recurs not only in the Song of Songs but in the prophets and in the New Testamentand the same-sex love is friendship."
Since Jesus talked extensively about the love of friends ("Greater love has no man than that he lay down his life for his friends"), I think you may want to retract your statement...
Read it again ... she was talking about the love of friends, not homosexual intercourse. The bible does indeed speak of that kind of love.
Congratulations.
You absolutely and completely misrepresented the author’s comment.
Thou shalt not bear false witness.
Here is the comment in full, posted in the excerpt, which one cannot possibly have missed if one had read it in good faith:
“Right now, the Biblical witness seems pretty clear. Both opposite-sex and same-sex love are used, in the Bible, as images of God’s love. The opposite-sex love is found in marriagesexually exclusive marriage, an image which recurs not only in the Song of Songs but in the prophets and in the New Testamentand the same-sex love is friendship. Both of these forms of love are considered real and beautiful; neither is better than the other. But they’re not interchangeable. “

AMEN!

I agree with you.
I love my husband very much. We express that verbally and physically.
I love my children very much. I don’t express it the same way. That would be wrong.
Sometimes I wonder if many gay people confuse one love with another.
She is referring to same sex love in the filial sense not the carnal sense, that is to mean friendship, deep friendship. Jesus Himself exhibited filial love with all his disciples and most likely everyone he met. This is the type of love we are all called to with all those besides our spouse, and then its both kinds, filial and eros with our spouses.
