No reason to be perplexed. Cdl Dolan is closing all the “traditional” parishes he can, both those where “Traditional” refers to the Tridentine Rite mass, and those where “traditional” refers to an old-line parish church that New Yorkers have been attending for generations.

And it doesn’t matter if they’re ok financially. Dolan just doesn’t want them. He wants the neutral suburban mega-church model implanted in New York City.

Dolan has totally, definitively tipped his hand. After all, how many times can a bishop snuggle up to pro-aborts, and persecute real Catholics, before it is conclusively demonstrated that he is pro-abortion and not-Catholic.

Dolan said that the pro-abortion governor of New York (Paterson) was a good Catholic and Christian. Dolan congratulated an unfortunate, misguided sodomite upon his “coming out.” Dolan gave a shout-out to pro-abort Joe Biden from the sanctuary of St. Patrick’s. Dolan calls orthodox priests into his office for chewings out.

Dolan is a pro-sodomy, pro-abortion Democrat party loyalist who hates the Catholic Church—except insofar as the Church serves as a vehicle for the ego of Dolan.

I can't imagine any justification for this. It looks like a campaign of systematic destruction. How can Cdl Dolan call himself father and pastor to this neglected flock?

I do not think it is so much as wanting to have a “neutral” model from the burbs, but I sense a FEAR on the part of Cardinal Dolan because of “pressure coming from the outside, ether from the NYC Mayor’s office or from devolopment speculators. Just my guess.
