For years the "Seal of the Confessional" was recognized for any denomination. I don't recall ever hearing of a judge that had the stones to push the issue with any clergy, (I could be wrong and would like to know if I am.)

First Gay marriage, female clergy, and now this.

What won't they buckle on?

No one is stupid enough to go to confession and confess to a crime. Confession was an invention. How it became a sacrament beats me.

**That said, pressure will now be turned up on Catholics to do the same.**

Won’t happen. Automatic excommunication for the priest. I don’t think priests will ever abandon the seal of Confession.

The majority of Anglicans now live in Africa, where their faith is growing by leaps and bounds among a profoundly conservative clergy (disregarding such fools as Bishop Tutu, retired).

And they have had it up to here with the antics of the Church of England, the Episcopalians in North America, and now the Australians.

Apparently, the entire church is moving to schism, with the leftist remnants fading away, dispensing with Christianity altogether.

So, any Anglican who has concerns about any possible criminal charges due to his/her confession visit to an Anglican priest will now decide to make his/her confession visit to a Catholic priest. Potential problem solved.

I don’t see where the Vatican needs to waste any time in reconciliation attempts with the Anglican/Episcopal church as that church is in the midst of self destruction.
