EXCLUSIVE: Holocaust denied by students in Rialto school assignment
San Bernadino Sun ^ | July 11, 2014 | Beau Yarbrough

Dozens of Rialto eighth-graders questioned whether the Holocaust occurred in essays written for an in-class assignment this spring.

Rialto Unified School District administrators, besieged by criticism after the assignment became public in May, claimed at the time that none of the students who completed the assignment questioned or denied the Holocaust, but a survey of the students’ work by this news organization found numerous examples of students expressing doubt or flatly denying that the Holocaust occurred. :snip:

“Students got high praise and grades for writing that the Holocaust was a hoax. I’m sick about that, I’m sick about that,” said Rabbi Suzanne Singer of Temple Beth El in Riverside. “It’s worse than I thought it was.”

In May, Associate Superintendent for Educational Services Susan Levine said her office hadn’t found any student essays that denied the Holocaust: Director of Secondary Curriculum “Andres Luna hasn’t found any yet, but he still has hundreds to go,” she said on May 8.

:snip:

The complete archive of the essays was provided to the Los Angeles News Group in the form of 45 PDF files, some of which contain hundreds of pages of student assignments. An examination of the essays by newsroom staff found that at least 50 essays denied or doubted the Holocaust occurred. Even many students who agreed the Holocaust occurred said there were good reasons to believe it had not or that elements of the historical record were actually hoaxes.

:snip: To write the in-class essay, students were given printouts from About.com, History.com and Holocaust denial site BibleBelievers.org.au.

""This was fake because the Diary of Anne Frank was written with a ballpoint pen and those didn't exist."

Columbus never discovered America because I read about it on the internet, and that didn’t exist in 1492.

My high school History teacher recently passed away. She was born a Jew in Poland during the thirties. Her concentration camp tattoo gave me chills.

Actually the first incarnation of the ball point pen appeared in 1888.

When I was a boy my grandfather would tell me stories about liberating gusen concentration camp at the end of WW2. He absolutely despised holocaust deniers and his eyes would tear up remembering the inhumanity he witnessed.

“This was fake because the Diary of Anne Frank was written with a ballpoint pen and those didn't exist.”

This is a really illiterate presentation of what has been posed as a major evidence that at least parts of the Frank diary were a hoax. However, no less than David Irving himself has recanted on this point. Irving in his research about archives and records determined that the ball point pen was introduced into use in Germany in the 1940’s several years before it was widely marketed in the US and Britain. He posted this on his web page and specifically stated that this objection to the authenticity of the manuscript was positively negated.

So much for Gen. Eisenhower (SACEUR) and his efforts to keep this epic genocide from being forgotten! He wrote the following to his superior, Gen. Marshall, after touring the death camp(s);

The visual evidence and the verbal testimony of starvation, cruelty and bestiality were so overpowering as to leave me a bit sick. In one room, where they [there] were piled up twenty or thirty naked men, killed by starvation, George Patton would not even enter. He said that he would get sick if he did so. I made the visit [to Gotha] deliberately, in order to be in a position to give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to “propaganda.”

Of course it is more subtle to not teach the history than to deny it. And the modern zeitgeist is to have so many things that are more important to teach, why there is just not time to cover such an ugly subject. It is to vomit!

“BibleBelievers.org.au.”

Can’t sing “Silent Night” and the Christmas concert that you also can’t have, but referencing some wacky Aussie nut religious site is OK.

Fight and lobby for woman to be in combat roles in the military, to kill people or perhaps to be killed yourself; but get you knickers in ten twists over women hunting animals.

It must be an awful thing to be Leftist, truly it is a mental disorder. It seems to resemble extreme schizophrenia, including paranoia and delusions of grandeur.

They need to visit Auschwitz like I did. (Rather) the teacher needs to visit Auschwitz and stand in front of the killing wall, view all the hair rugs, children’s shoes, prostheses, coats, etc.

And then visit the stand up cell where several prisoners had to stand all night in a small space. Then visit the open latrines in the middle of the three high cots, then visit the cremation center.

They would not deny the Holocaust after such a visit.

I don’t know if it’s a sinking into dhimmi-hood disguised as ‘multiculturalism’, or just a generalized anger towards structured religion or what? I’m not sure of the arab or muslim population of Rialto (which is next to Fontana, CA).

There was a lady that worked in the store where my mother bought sewing fabric that had a concentration camp tattoo. It used to give me chills when she would measure and cut fabric, that tattoo just jumped out.

Following one of the links in the article, I came to discover that the Rialto Unified’s interim superintendent is one Mohammad Z. Islam. What a surprise. Link is to this story: LINK

For their next assignment they should write that stories of enslavement of Africans in the American south are hoaxes.
