As you all know, I practice my Catholic faith in a Maronite (Eastern) Catholic Church. The roots of the Maronite Church go back to Antioch where the term "christian" was first used and where St. Peter served as bishop before going to Rome. Our pastor is from Lebanon; he is a celibate, monastic, missionary priest in his thirties. Some of our parishioners travel back and forth to Lebanon on a regular basis. Lebanon is often used as an example of a country where both christians and muslims coexist on a fraternal level.

I appreciate how these Catholic christians have shown the love of Christ to their fellow muslim neighbors over the course of many centuries. However, I still view their approach as naive. The christian population of Lebanon is shrinking. Now that Iraq is in the hands of Islamic fundamentalists, it is only a matter of time before they extend their caliphate to the surrounding region.

The ONLY way the UN would decide to involve itself in Mosul is if someone rose up to fight ISIS and begin to make progress in that fight. Then we’d hear calls to “stop the bloodshed.”

Until then, the UN is disinterested in the slaughter of Christians or the mutilation of girls.

The UN probably won’t “stand by” but the Christians won’t care for the UN’s intervention at all. The UN will use the confiscated churches and monasteries for refugees, Moslem refugees being processed for shipment to Boise and Moline.

Judge Pirro had her hardest-hitting, most courageous opening editorial last night that I've heard in a long time on TV....from ANYBODY.

I looked to see all the comments regarding her remarks on FR, other sites and on the air.

Nothing.

She excoriated in the strongest terms the lack of support being given to the Christians being slaughtered as we speak.....lack of support by Christian church leaders of all denominations all over the world. She included the office of the papacy and the Vatican....and the Judge is a strong Catholic. She pulled NO punches.

About the only thing the victims of this Muslim jihad are getting are sanctimonious, publicized "prayers" by a pitiful few church movers and shakers.

Well, these poor souls need money, guidance, shelter, rescue, protection, safe passages, you name it. The prayers, however well-meaning are not saving them from death, injury and loss of everything they own.

The church leaders are busting their seams seeing what they can do for the illegal border children who, as everyone knows are being fed, sheltered, medicated, clad and entertained in manners they've never experienced before, and they are SAFE, not in danger of being burned alive or their heads cut off tomorrow.

I agree with the Judge....shame on the Christian leadership community worldwide for their lack of interest and proper support.

Here they are supposed to be shepherds and protectors of their flocks....but it appears to be Wolves 100 and Lambs ZERO up till now.
