Did you see The Passion of the Christ? There were some hints in it.

Also. remember Simeon’s prophecy? She knew from the very beginning, in fact, at the Annunciation that everything was special — Holy Spirit involved.

I really can’t answer your question since I wasn’t alive then.

Hard to imagine how good that must have been ... but the wedding guests were too wasted to appreciate it. That's probably a metaphor, on top of everything else.

(How did Mary His mother know of Jesus’ miraculous powers?)

Maybe she was not anticipating a miracle, but rather that he would do something practical about the issue. For example, perhaps one of his disciples had commercial connections and could have gotten a wine merchant to cough up the good stock he was saving for the Romans next time they came up-country.

Yep, it's different (I love it). Daniel Mitsui is one of my favorite artists working today. He specializes in marrying his Japanese heritage with his Christian faith. He also does lovely medieval-style drawings.

Oh . . . and this is the painting we used for the cover of my daughter's wedding leaflet -

Nicolas Correa, Mexican, 17th c., Las Bodas de Cana'

(we would have used Mr. Mitsui's, but he hadn't drawn it yet :-) )
