21 And all King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver; it was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.

22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram. Once in three years came the navy of Tarshish bringing gold and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

23 So King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

I found only one mention of this magnificent bird in Scripture, and the one citation is of an item of Cargo! It is an interesting thing, because, in our culture, the Peacock is a symbol of PRIDE. The proud, Strutting, Gorgeous Male peacock is lovely to look at, but the birds themselves are known for their nasty disposition.

I was enchanted, when approaching to a customer's home to teach music to the children, by the sight of several peacocks strutting around on the lawn. When I commented upon them, my customer said:

"Oh, THOSE things! I tried to get animal control to remove them, but they wouldn't, then I called the zoo and they wouldn't take them, and neither would the Botanical Gardens! They poop everywhere and attack my dog! I HATE those things!"

My opinion of peacocks was changed. "Pride" is not such a pretty thing, after all. (Still, I expect that today's graphics are going to be REALLY nice! :-))

Kinda reminds me of the roosters we used to have. Beautiful to look at, but they attacked me every time I went to the car, to their demise haha! Got rid of them awful quick. Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem casting before the LORD the Crowns of Beauty that without His Glorious Name. Praise Him.
