From what has been going on, it seems to me, an evangelical Christian, to be “evolving” on homosexuality. And it can because the leaders have that authority. They represent Christ and are as Him on earth, and they decide how God’s Word is interpreted, according to Catholic doctrine. They even use the same methods to look at Scripture as the liberal and secular “scholars” do. And overall the Catholic leadership is the foundation of the Catholic Church. What they say goes - as long as enough Catholics (and powers outside Catholicism) will back them. According to a Pew study this year, 58% of white Catholics and 56% of Hispanic Catholics support gay marriage. And among “regular church goers” who are Catholic (those attending at least 1-2 times a month), 50% support and 45% oppose. By contrast, 27% of white evangelicals and 35% of black Protestants favor gay marriage, and 69% and 59% oppose.

Funny in a strange way that they keep using the verb ‘evolving’. Evolution is about surviving. Homosexuals take themselves out of the gene pool. Homosexuality is an evolutionary cul de sac.

“Dolan can BURN IN HELL.”

He can, but we don’t want him to. We want everyone to go to heaven. Pray for him and defend the truth.

Why is G-d so against homosexual sex?

I guess I have too much time on my hands, but for some reason I looked at your posting history, and every single thread that you have ever taken part in is about gay marriage?

Do you mind me asking what that`s about? sorry

When SCOTUS voted for homosexual marriage, I realized I was against it. Prior to that, I didn’t care. I guess I think it’s a sign of the end times.

Because He created us male and female, was never the plan for it to be anything other than that. But you are right He is totally against it.

Because God said so works for me! The Bible refers to it as a abomination.

But even the Bible aside...they dont fit together, common sense.

2 guys up each others butts, disgusting even without the Bible to tell us so, not to mention that to tolerate it and accept it, is to harm a child.

That`s my answer, not that you were asking me, I understand

“What they say goes - as long as enough Catholics (and powers outside Catholicism) will back them.”

But then we would have seen the official acceptance of birth control within marriage, civil divorce and remarriage and the relaxation of the discipline of celibacy long ago, right? Why hasn’t that happened before now if a majority of western Catholics also support those things? Has there ever been a religious group that has accepted ‘gay marriage’ before they also accepted birth control within marriage or civil divorce and remarriage?

Freegards

And it can because the leaders have that authority.

  1. The only "leaders" who get to set doctrine is the Magisterium, the bishops teaching in union with the Pope.
  2. Not even they have the authority to reverse constant, traditional teaching like the very basic idea that sodomy is immoral and marriage is between a man and a woman.
You really don't understand the teaching model if you think that the Catholic clergy just gets to make it up as they go (and can somehow pretend to be authoritative in doing so). Part of "representing Christ" is recognizing that he gave us the faith, through the Apostles. It is what it is. We don't get to change it, to suit the zeitgeist or anything else.

Evangelical Christians, on the other hand ... prior to 1930, every Christian group agreed that artificial contraception was contrary to divine law. Starting with the Anglicans, every Christian group has caved into the zeitgeist on that issue ... except one. Once sex divorced from nature is permissible, how can you stop from endorsing homosexual acts?

Why is G-d so against homosexual sex?

Because it is a perversion of His procreative purpose for humans and nature. He tells us repeatedly that it is an abomination in His sight so it's not up to us to question God and tell Him He's wrong. He made us, He gets to make the rules. If we expect to live lives that please God and receive His blessings, we should obey His commands.

The Roman Catholic clergy used to have married priests and has recently started allowing married priests to serve again. Roman Catholicism also has the "official" process of annulments where divorced people are accepted and allowed to remarry and participate fully in the sacraments. The majority of Catholics (>50%) already use birth control and the Catholic church advocates a form of birth control "officially" in NFP (Natural Family Planning). Catholic women have abortions and sex before marriage is also common.

So, it's really one thing to talk about what is "officially" Catholic policy and what goes on among its people anyway - and has for some time. Perhaps if the hierarchy ever had the courage to implement Biblical church discipline among its adherents - as spelled out IN Scripture - this would not be something the "world" could question - what is stated in theory would become the reality.

Is this Pope unduly interested in popularity? Yes.

Are most bishops, at least in America, apostates? Yes.

Is the teaching of the Catholic Church on what sexual acts are mortal sins ever going to change? No.

This is the worst Pope since Paul VI. Worse. Paul was merely weak. This Pope is a panderer. Anything for applause.

The bishops are even worse. Dolan has repeatedly declared pro-abortion politicians to be “good Catholics.” David Paterson was one. Andrew Cuomo was another.

I don’t blame TIME. Anyone who doesn’t have, or know, the Faith would reach precisely the same conclusions from the statements of this Pope and local bishops, which range from careless to damnably scandalous.

Homosexuality has nothing to do with genes. I.e., no one is either conceived or born homosexual.

The most common factors in creating a (male) homosexual are an overbearing mother and an inadequate father. Or a mother and/or father who are even worse—narcissistic, chronically angry, neglectful, abusive, absent, etc.

Any analysis of, or approach to, the phenomenon of homosexuality that scapegoats homosexual persons and absolves heterosexuals (i.e., primarily the parents of homosexual persons) is a lie.

Father, do you find other clergy thinking like you do? Clearly this sort of talk is not allowed in the pulpit, but do you think there are many priests out there scratching their heads and getting hot under the collar (heh) as you are (and just keep their mouths shut publically)?
