Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.
But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:
"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.
As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

I'm sorry, I'm confused are we worshiping the sun or the Eucharist?
You see folks this is what happens when people entertain their inner Dan Brown. Incoherence. The obsession cannot help itself from attempting to throw everything including the kitchen sink in the hopes that it will be effective.

They know that the object of prohibition is the making and adoring of idols. But they probably wish to keep the ignorant under the stupid delusion of supposing, that Catholics are idolaters, because they have images, and that they themselves are not, though they have them likewise at home; and even in their churches admit the absurd figures of the lion and the unicorn, stretching their paws over the tables of the law, instead of the pious representations of Jesus expiring on the cross, &c. which were set up by their Catholic ancestors. Let them read, and adopt herein just weights and measures, proposed to them by Thorndike, one of their most discerning and moderate teachers. In the mean time, we will assure them, that we abhor all idols; both those made with hands, and those which are formed by the head of heretics, who set up their own fancies and delusions, to be adored instead of the true God.

Nobody goes from dinner on Saturday until Sunday morning Mass with no food, so you’d better do some recent research if you wanna sound halfway intelligent on the matter. The fasting period in the 50s was nothing after midnight. You know, like those evil crazy doctors require before labs or surgery, which apparently doesn’t kill people. Now only an hour of fasting is required before receiving communion. It’s a small sacrifice compared to Jesus’ sacrifice for all humanity, including those who would bash his Church ad nauseum.

The definitions/commentaries ‘they’ use/write are generally ‘cover ups’ trying to explain away the real truth that doesn’t fit catholicism’s agenda, and ‘piling’ layers of gibberish on top to keep the more intellectual catholic members occupied who have a ‘need’ to “feel” smart....
....Then they also talk out of booth sides of their mouths....”idol worship” is forbidden...but then they do that and just “name” it something else.
Rather like “Global Warming” euro-weenies switched to “Climate Change” after they got caught lying.

I’ve been lurking here far too long. As a result my posting philosophy is in accordance with what is proffered from the other side. If protestants want to be contemptuous that’s what they receive. If they want to be thoughtful and engage in meaningful dialogue they receive that as well. And while RF rules prevent me from publicly imputing the motive and intent of individual members of the protestant contingent that does not mean such analysis does not take place and as a result I tailor my responses accordingly.

Nobody’s bashing catholics......but we are the practices which they promote and the catholicism they teach of false doctrines to support those practices....
Only those who have no defense would resort to saying people are bashing them....and is commonly known for catholics to resort to seeing themselves as victims when they have no defense. ...So it just doesn’t fly to keep playing that old record we can all name in one note.

It’s not about religion......it’s about truth and falsehood, deception and error by false teachers who abuse Christianity and try to re-construt it to be something it is not.....that is counterfeit Christianity.
