Pope Francis, "If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!"
Charisma News ^ | 9/5/2014 | Jennifer LeClaire

Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.

But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:

"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.

As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

When you place garlands and crowns on the heads of statues and bow down before them it is still “worship” by any other name.

....”Mary leads everyone to her Son”.....

In Christianity she doesn’t...that is the work of God who leads people to His son, and this by His Spirit.

In Catholicism teachings she’s been created to do so because without catholics mary their whole house of cards would fall.

Even though Roman Catholicism claims to be Christian yet it violates the essentials of the Christian faith. It goes beyond what is written in God’s word (1 Cor. 4:6). It denies the sole and true sovereignty of the living God by promoting prayer to and the worship of Mary.

I was astonished at her pictures of piles of bones in a church basement. No decent burial.

Catacombs?

You can’t see what’s not there.

I’m waiting for the response that reads...

“It’s there.

“It’s there, it’s there it’s there. So there!”

Jesus has given us a perfect role model (and mother). You choose to reject her as such. That’s your own business, not mine, but it is the height of dishonor.

If only Catholics were so zealous for Jesus!

The Catholic Church has never promoted the worship of Mary. If you continue to tell such blatant lies, how do you expect anyone to listen to you?

God existed before Mary who was descended from Adam and Eve. Adam was formed from dust by God with God’s own hand. God breathed life into Adam.

God formed man from creation long before Mary existed.

Is stating this truth “dishonering Mary?”

This thread is about Mary. Post one on Eucharistic Adoration, and you'll see how zealous Catholics are about Jesus!

Is Jesus alone sufficient for salvation?

Maybe. I do not remember since I have not looked at them since she died.

Thank you for THAT response!

So you don’t “need” Mary for salvation?

My Grandfather actually had those pictures on the wall - next to his PBR advertisements. I thought the pictures were fun - when I was 5.
Granddad was a muckety- muck in the K of C and gave tours of the church on Saturdays. People would take the tour and light the 50-cent candles. I guess they raised a lot of money for the Solidarity and incense.
But I digress.
If you see anything that strikes of a personal attack, you’re wrong.

That is unrneal. You would sooner expect that from a Satanic cult.

There are statues of skeletons in some Catholic churches. There's even one in... I hope you're lying down for this... The Vatican.

Angel of Death detail Alexander VII 7636
1200 x 1050 (541 KB)

The statue of Truth on the right also represents Faith. Truth holds a symbol of the sun and has her foot placed on the globe, directly over England, where Alexander VII had so much trouble in his attempts to reduce the spread of the Anglican Church and return England to Catholicism. Bernini’s three-dimensional skeleton was unprecedented in tomb construction and the idea very likely came from a mass Bernini attended in 1639 at the Chiesa del Gesu, where mechanized skeletons with crowns and swords were used in a theatrical production during the services to symbolize Death’s dominance over the world. This must have strongly influenced him, because with this monument Bernini strayed from the normal representation of the skeleton as the body of the deceased and clearly made his 3D skeleton as a representation of Death, holding up the draperies to the Door of Eternity.

OTOH, "the Bible alone" doctrine, with each man his own pope, has given us cultural gems like this:

That's like saying, "Don't you need ANYONE else" -- but what about all the people in your life, your spouse, your kids, friends..... don't you in some way need them to know Christ? No one lives a totally isolated life. Mary and the saints are, just like those on earth, put here by God to help us know Christ, to lead us to him. Mary being the most grace-filled human that ever lived, leads us to Jesus the most.
