Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A visit to Israel reveals centuries of the Stonemason's craft. One can merely look at the stonework and know both the era and nationality of the work. The great stone Amphitheater in Caesaria is Roman Design, a fact is attested by the "Pontius Pilate Stone" discovered nearly intact. Just down the road, however, is a castle that was obviously built by the Crusaders.

Nowhere is the stone-masonry more characteristic of the Jewish People than Jerusalem. Despite Centuries of conquest and destruction, the Herodian Dressed Stones of the Temple Mount and it's Western Wall are Silent Witness to the Presence of the Jewish People for 3000 years. This same beveled, dressed stone appears elsewhere in Israel, in Hebron at the Tomb of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and on Masada, the fortress of Herod, where a small group of Jews made their last Stand against the Romans.
