I thought the Republican bosses had a soul-searching meeting after the Romney loss, and determined that the conservative Christian was to be disowned in favor of the illegal Latins, LGBT types, and female voter. I’m pretty sure they said that at bottom, the conservative is a problem for the party.

Why now is the White Christian so pivotal?

"The candidates, certainly the Democratic candidates, are not talking about these issues and in most cases the Republican candidates aren't talking about these issues, so we are going to talk about them," said veteran conservative activist Ralph Reed. [...] The idea is to ensure enough evangelical turnout to swing Senate races

How and why, since the Republican candidates aren't talking about these issues?

After running pro-abortion Mitt Romney in 2012, the GOP announced that they were going to get back to their pro-life position.

“The same week, the Republican National Committee decided that it was time for the national party to wade back into the pro-life waters after a perceived hiatus from using it as a platform issue. A “Resolution on Republican Pro-Life Strategy” formally re-established abortion as a 2014 election issue for the party and seeks to push back on the “war on women” rhetoric that Democrats have made synonymous with the pro-life movement.”

White Christian Conservatives are the majority base for the GOP.

Why we have been kicked to the curb for years and years is beyond me.

Why they blame us for their losers (Mittens and McCain) losing elections is also beyond me.
