Evangelical Church Grapples With Growth of Gay Rights Conservatives Face Calls to Re-Examine Traditional Teaching on Homosexuality By TAMARA AUDI As advocates for same-sex marriage celebrate a series of legal victories and Pope Francis strikes a softer tone toward gays, the most-conservative quarters of the American evangelical Christian movement are wrestling with how to respond to a dramatically shifting legal and cultural landscape.

Most evangelicals remain firmly opposed to homosexuality, and see the increased legalization of same-sex marriage as a threat to religious freedom and proof of the deterioration of Christian values in society. But some are advocating...

But what's your pastoral strategy for reaching gays?

Say a mom wants her little boy enrolled in your church's Vacation Bible School. He's enrolled, he's participating and making friends, he's learning his prayers and his Bible Stories, everything's fine. A couple days in, the church realizes that another lady comes and picks him up and she's also his "mom." He's being raised by two women.

Coordinator of VBS program engages the ladies in casual conversation (not starting out with "Uh, so you're both little Michael's mothers? Is one of you the grandmother? Or...what are you, queer?" but starting out with "You're new here. Good to see Michael loves VBS. Are you coming to Parents' Evening next Friday?")

Or what? What is your next step?

If Bible believing spirit filled churches are re thinking.....they have stopped being spirit filled and Bible believing.

Lesbians put their “their” child in VBS?

How often does that happen?

Go ahead and ignore Scripture and then good luck at the Pearly Gates pleading your case.

What's to grapple? What's to struggle?

Queers are wrong and Evangelicals know it.

Queers: "We are the 2.3%".     07/15/2014 192kb.pdf

This small, small percentage of our population is making outsized noises. Satan is smiling big time.

Forcing people to provide services for homosexual weddings is just a start. Soon they will demand that churches be rented out to them and pastors forced to officate, too.

These are not conservative Christians. Conservative Christians read the Bible.

Dealing with the growth of the homosexual movement is not a big problem as long as you leave when you are told to get out of Sodom.

....”Church Grapples With Growth of Gay Rights”....

It grows because it's tolerated...like a poisonous snake in the brush with it's hatching's......just keeps multiplying until overrun. The church has already grabbled with it by not standing against it....and further... letting anyone who wants come into the church body of believers. Nobody is guarding the gates.

An adulterous individual caught and tried can be forgiven...but must not do that again. They have to control the “urges” they have in the past allowed themselves to entertain in their minds.

It is no different for those who have homosexual urges....they entertained the desires long before they acted...then tasted...and now they know that there's a price to pay for doing so...you have to battle what you know that before you didn't know because you refrained.

Same for adultery and every other sexual perversion.....and vice you allow in your life....once you've fallen to it you're bound for resisting it the rest of your life.

Which is why Biblical Christians will eventually have to go underground....the push within the churches is great now to conform to the world and worldly views....that is not going to let up.

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2014/10/26/poll-gop-expands-advantage-days-before-midterm-election/

“Republicans have expanded their advantage in the final days of the midterm campaign and now hold an 11-point lead among likely voters on the question of which party should control Congress, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News/Annenberg survey finds.

Some 52% of likely voters in the survey said they wanted the election to produce a Republican-led Congress, while 41% favored Democratic control.

A week earlier, Republicans had held a narrower, 5-point lead on the question in the Journal/NBC/Annenberg survey.”

Can’t wait to see a landslide. Gov. Brown needs to be thrown off too. We need a seismic shift

Rothenberg has GOP at about 240, pick up of 6.

https://rothenbergpoliticalreport.com/ratings/house

so does Cook
http://cookpolitical.com/house/charts/race-ratings

538 has GOP Senate favored. IA is a tossup, as is KS.

Rothenberg has GOP at 50 with IA deciding it.
https://rothenbergpoliticalreport.com/ratings/senate

Cook has GOP 45, plus half of 10 toss ups is 50.

No, Christ gives freedom to those who are truly His. I don’t believe what you say, while he ~may~ allow a redeemed Christian to still struggle with a particular sin once in a while, they’ll never be controlled by it, and will have a new nature that doesn’t generally have that former tendency@!~

Free daycare for about two weeks. Then they can file a lawsuit for discrimination when the church says something against homos.
