Calvin founded capitalism?

If capitalism is supposed to be something above and beyond ordinary market freedom, I’d be really interested in what that extra dimension is. It sounds so much like giving glory to dollars rather than the Deity. I’m not sure even Calvin would go for that.

Market freedom is slightly different because a free market doesn't result in everyone being a capitalist. Some will squander in a free market environment, but others will save and/or invest the capital they've formed.

The use of capital to expand wealth or power does not detract from deity in itself. In fact, many times it will reflect the glory of God as others are benefited through the investment through charity, jobs, civic improvement etc. Jesus talked about loving your fellow man. We've heard that a rising tide lifts all boats. Doesn't God like to see all boats lifted?
