Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Jobs In The Bible

Musician

(New International Version (NIV)

20Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. 21His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who play the lyre and pipe.

(Genesis 4:21)

Praise the Lord.

1. Praise God in his sanctuary;
    praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
    praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
    praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
    praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
    praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.

(Psalm 150)

19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,

(Ephesians 5:19)

HALLELUJAH!

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent Is Your Name Over All The Earth!
We Praise and Worship You;
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The One True God of the Universe!
Blessed Are You Oh LORD, Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
Rock of All Ages!

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

In The Ancient World, Musicians served in many roles. It was not the vast entertainment network that exists today, but was mostly for Ritual, Community, and Even Military use. Music brought the People together for one purpose, whether it was to fight, choose a mate, celebrate a harvest, or worship.

The Temple of God in Jerusalem had an entire staff of Musicians, and most of their instruments would be recognizable today.

Some people do not like "contemporary" music in their Worship Services. A wise Director of Music will choose a variety of music to reach everyone...an Old Hymn, a Classical Piece, a Contemporary Worship Song, and something new once in a while. The purpose is not to "entertain", but to draw the congregation into worship, and Give Glory to God.

Although I was raised in a different tradition, the majority of my congregation LOVE Blues and Old-Time Southern Gospel Music.

I had to learn a LOT of music and change my style in a very short space of time, but as long as it gives God the Glory...then HALLELUJAH!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

RAISE YE THE LORD.

him in the firmament of his power.

Praise him for his mighty acts: praise
him according to his excellent
greatness.
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.

Praise ye the LORD.
Psalm 150 (KJV)

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH For Our Brethren Of All Faiths Throughout The World Suffering Persecution.
We pray in particular on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and throughout the Mideast. The members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, some of which date from the days of the Apostles, suffer under cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far;
The LORD hath called me from the womb;
From the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
(Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
