He remarked that there were twelve orders for lox, bagels and cream cheese but only one for just a bagel and they divided the check by thirteen and the guy who only got the bagel had to pay the same as all the guys who got lox AND bagels and... ;o)

Amazing isn't it, the snobbish elitism and exclusivity of some so-called Christians?

The word translated as "church" in the English KJV is from the Greek "ecclesia" and means "assembly" or "gathering", just like you said. Funny how the bigoted snobby elitists don't get that. From what some of them say, they presume they are the ONLY ones allowed to call themselves Christians or a Christian church - like God gave them the copyright or something. He didn't.

I respect people who think and challenge their own assumptions. Those that do not are simply parrots. Terrible waste of a mind that we are commanded to use all of to love God.

Still, I can show them truth. I cannot force anyone to think about what I show them. I accept that.

Another observation I came up with is that purgatory isn't a precursor to heaven...the "bottom rung" of heaven so to speak...but rather the TOP rung of hell.

Satan just has to reach up and grab one of the purgatatory dwellers by the foot and pull them down into his heated up depths-of-hell eternity.
