Is God The Problem With American Politics?
The Huffington Post UK ^ | November 21, 2014 | Paul Vale

Throughout November, The Huffington Post UK is featuring its Beyond Belief series, chronicling those who've taken on faith to create a force for change.

"You’re the anti-Christ, you will be destroyed,” screamed an incensed heckler during a speech by Barack Obama in June this year. It was not the first time Obama had heard this very pointed line, nor was he the first President to hear it.

Anti-Obama rallies are often decorated with signs or t-shirts carrying overtly religious messages, whether it’s likening him to the Devil, demanding that Christian prayers be returned to schools or suggesting that America has a divine mission – one the “Muslim” in the White House is currently derailing.

These remain in a minority. Populist movements such as the Tea Party are predominantly concerned with economic issues, and most signs and banners reflect that – but it is a notable difference from the UK and Western Europe that anti-government rallies include any religious motifs at all.

Despite polling showing a waning in religion’s influence in the US, the country remains one of the most devout in the Western world, an outlier amongst the secular, industrialised democracies, with more than 50% of Americans saying that religion is important to them, almost three times as many as most of Western Europe.

Centuries of bloodshed over God finally persuaded Europeans to extricate religion from political life....

If Obama is not the anti-Christ, let him prove it and we can move on...

I’ve determined that he’s his warm-up act, but if he declares himself president-for-life, I will perhaps reconsider.

Europe is cattleland. Just a bunch of land for the Russians or Chinese or Islamics (or all of the above) to eventually conquer and rape. Let these “superior” atheist sissies beg for the help of “backward” and religious America while they hysterically try to fight off the mad bear or dragon with their pink Louie Baton purses.

And what did they get? "Peace for our time." It worked out pretty well for Europe and Neville Chamberlain, wouldn't you say?

Presumably the anti-christ would have difficulty advocating Biblical righteousness and instead would embrace all things depraved. That describes Obama to a t.

No.
The lack of God is the problem.

The anti-christ stuff is just plain stupid and diverts us from the task at hand.

Oh, really? They have? Set aside for a moment about the influence of Islam in Europe - Everyone worships something.

It may be science, it may be self, money, the earth, beauty, sex, drugs, - whatever determines the priorities in your life IS your god.

Agreed.

First task: Adjourn both houses of Congress for a long holiday and go drink much alcohol.

Second task: Hope the voters don't believe what their lying eyes are plainly seeing and go drink some more.

Third task: What, me worry?

This writer is obviously an atheist. As he is excoriating those who are Christians, he should be reminded that the atheistic Communist regimes of the 20th century perpetrated horrific and inhumane acts of violence in the name of the state, which is a religion. It appears that the influence of traditional Christian religion seems to innoculate against this kind of violence. I saw a pie chart recently that showed all of the wars which have taken place throughout history and 97% of those were non-religious. So, all the atheists out there had better hope that Christianity survives so they can continue to live in a society which, at least, values freedom.

God is not the problem. He has been pushed out of sight and He has taken His Blessings with Him.

Dear Lord, please come back and we would love it if you would see fit to kick Obama in the @$$. Amen and Amen.

Obama is not THE anti-Christ. He’s certainly anti-Christian. He’s a Muslim Marxist illegal alien.

The anti-Christ will be much smarter.

One thing is clear: The dupes of Obama, and the anti-Christ, SELF-SELECT. Those who are spiritually and intellectually dead can look at a politician who is vociferously in favor of chopping babies into pieces and accept that he is a “Christian.”

How does one prove they are not the anti-christ?

(1 Jn 4:2-3)
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

Well stated and 100% spot on!

Is God The Problem With American Politics?

YES!!!!

The complete abscense of God in the Democrat political party is a major problem.
It is not just their intolerance of God that is a problem it also extends to their trying to drive him from all the American citizens.
