It was a wonderful experience.
One elderly gent was a Veteran of WW2, Korea, AND Vietnam. He had to have his ball-cap custom made, because there wasn’t anything quite like that in stock!
And after talking with him a while, I found out he lived across the street from me, in Boston’s Hyde Park Neighborhood.
Another survivor lived down the street from us.

One of my high school classmate’s father passed away recently. He was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was about 18 or 19, a sailor, who witnessed the attacks and was part of the cleanup, which was not pretty.
