12What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?

I believe we see that scripture the same way, I think Paul was saying to get the man that was doing this deed out of the Church.

In this case I would be the first one that I would get out of the Church and I did.

We maybe see the Church in a different light, my belief is that although any one can be in the congregation not just any one can be a member.

the members of the early Church sold what they had and laid the proceeds at the apostles feet and every one lived in common.

This is still at least partly the case in 1 Timothy ch 5, 9 to 16.

The members of the Church had a job to do, they were not just there to hear the word but to help the Church preach it, so they were to live what they preached.

People like myself are not members of the Church so we are out side in that sense and we will be judged by God.

In other words I believe the word Church member of today would be foreign to the early Church.

"Simple answer: you're actually stupid"

I don't think Abby Johnson would disagree with this assessment, undersood on the principle, "Sin makes you stupid."

When she says she "knows" she was an intelligent person, I think she means that she could have passed general assessments of mentalacuity, IQ tests, benchmarks of academic achievements, etc.

This does not preclude being, in ths sin-deadened sense, stupid.

From the article:They don’t see it. They don’t know what they are doing. That sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Maybe for some this might be true, but I am certain beyond the shadow of a doubt that there are a good number that do know exactly what they're doing and just don't give a @#$%.

Watched the movie, my daughter says the book is much better. I didn’t think the movie was bad.

It is a series of books, and the third and fourth are gut wrenching at times.

Is that not also the definition of “evil” - knowing the difference but choosing it anyway.

Thanks for the thread.

The awakening of this individual (and many others associated in any way with abortion, whether abortionists, or those who have been duped into having one and then feel the pain of the whiplash later) reminds me of the remorse that is described by the man who ran a slave ship and when he woke up to the evil he had been doing, he wrote “Amazing Grace.”

There was a Broadway play about de-Nazification years ago. Can’t remember the name of it. The German is an orchestra conductor who opted to stay in Germany during the Reich. His questioner is American, I believe.

At one point, finally, after some very clever questioning, he realizes his mistake when he himself says something like, “Yes, I guess it would have been better if I didn’t stay.” Then he realizes what he said. He realizes he took part in the whole thing just by staying and doing his music thing, and he has to run from the room.

I wish these talented interrogators were available to question the abortionists. But all in good time. They will know someday.

I was not familiar with this story. How very poignant.

A soul who is out of alignment from the Lord, and is seeking to hide from the pain of conscious knowing of its sin, never knows when He will cause the blinders to fall off.

We see this so clearly in the conversion of our beloved St. Paul.

Very true. And it is a shame that the church in general doesn’t talk about the continual spiritual warfare Christians are fighting every day.
