It actually goes even deeper than just "feelings". The Catholic Church in order to attract pagans into it incorporated many of their practices. We have evidence of this from Cardinal Newman.
"We are told in various ways by Eusebius that Constantine, in order to recommend the new religion to the heathen transferred into it the outward ornaments to which they had been accustomed in their own. (Cardinal Newman, Developement of Christian Doctrine, pg 373)
So the incorporating of the practices and beliefs of other religions into the Catholic religion has a long history.
That practice is in direct contradiction to God's word.
Deuteronomy 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. 31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God:
Why should Catholics have to explain Catholic Dogma to protestants who reject most all things Catholic?
The Catholic Church has never said all dogma is contained in Scripture. You protestants are trying to apply “sola scriptura” to the Catholic Church, which has never accepted that odd notion.
But I am amused that the prots focus most all their criticism (on this forum) on the Catholic Church rather than attacking each other’s “churches”. It gives me comfort.
