I reject that Priests can give an annulment for a marriage that happened before God, who was in attendance.

I reject that Priests can give an annulment for a marriage that happened before God, who was in attendance.

In Catholic theology (I know...you have no time for it), marriage is a sacrament. Like all sacraments (there are 7), certain conditions must be met for the sacrament to be valid.

An annulment is simply a judgement that some of those conditions were not met and therefore the sacrament was invalid.
