“Interpretation” is always something man made, and rarely coincides with God’s word, so if you are following an interpretation perhaps you wish for something else?

Yes, there were heresies that sprang up over the years but those were quickly put down....but the actual attempt to re-establish the meanings and teachings of Christianity came only after Luther and the others decided to determine what was right and wrong with Christianity...
