The Vatican on Monday offered to help the United States in its efforts to close Guantanamo prison, a goal fervently supported by Pope Francis.
Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said the Holy See welcomed recent signs President Barack Obama appears to have accelerated efforts to close the controversial facility...
He said the Vatican stood ready to "help find adequate humanitarian solutions through our international contacts...

Such a selective busybody. I don't recall him campaigning against child euthanasia in Belgium, an issue (unlike Gitmo) which is directly within his purview. His buddy Cardinal O'Malley is in bed with the Democrats. ("The brothers Donilon: Ones boss is President Obama, the others could be pope" http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the-brothers-donilon-ones-boss-is-president-obama-the-others-could-be-pope/2013/03/10/afec9b04-89a6-11e2-98d9-3012c1cd8d1e_story.html. ) Pope Francis has apparently climbed right in with him. As a result, his popularity with well-informed, practicing Catholics is sinking fast, while most traditional Catholics had his number from the beginning.
Then the Pope can just make room for them in Vatican City. Put his actions where his mouth is.
Maybe they can house the prisoners on the Vatican compound.
Right next to the showers for the homeless~
Send them all to the Vatican.
Yes, let Vatican City have them. Along with its share of the illegals streaming across the southern border, which we have previously been lectured by Rome/the Catholic Hierarchy [I think it was the pope himself] to welcome in. Let Vatican City have them all. Then check back with us in 6 mos or so. It’s sure to be an interesting report.
“...Let Vatican City have them all. ...”
Based on the pattern of logic from his cranium that has been on regular display, he may be thinking of hiring them to replace the Swiss guard.
If he’s offering to re-institute the Spanish Inquisition to get information out of them then I’m all for it! Their methods were far superior to ours...
+1
He can put them up in the Papal palace - he’s not using it at the time.
Can we revoke his passport?
IGNORING THE CRY FOR FREEDOM OF THE CUBAN PEOPLE, COMRADE OBAMA CAME TO THE RESCUE OF CASTROS STALINIST REGIME
Barack Obamas allies are not our allies; his enemies are not our enemies. He was raised to sympathize with Castros Cuba, Arafats PLO, Brezhnevs Russia. He has chafed at the bit throughout his presidency, hating pretending to like our allies, hating pretending to dislike our enemies. He has worked to drive wedges through our friendships with Britain, Israel, Canada and he has worked to weaken our opposition to islamofascist terror and our longtime global rivals. And he will to continue in these directions every day that he has the power to do so. (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3252351/posts)
After 56 years, Cuba still remains a giant prison island under the boot of the Castro brothers.
The Chinese maintain an advanced electronic base in the center of the Havana province to intercept all electronic communications in U.S. and is equipped for eventual cyber attacks to U.S.
Putin is reopening the spy base in the outskirts of Havana that was closed after the dismembering of the Soviet Union.
Well before he came to power, Castro regarded the United States as an enemy. In a 1957 letter displayed in Havana's Museo de la Revolucion, Fontova observes the future ruler wrote to a friend: "War against the United States is my true destiny. When this war's over, I'll start that much bigger and wider war."
Six months before the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attack to New York and Washington, Fidel Castro, speaking at Tehran University in Iran on May 10, 2001, vowed that the imperialist king will finally fall, that their cooperation would put the U.S. down its knees. The hatred of the Castro brothers against U.S. has not mellowed after 56 years in power.
After Obama surrender to the communist regime the American base in Cuba, Castro might give the Guantanamo base to Iran to consolidate and strengthen the Cuban ties to the Islamic terrorist network, an alliance that started since the very beginning of taken power in Cuba the communist revolution.
