So the guard suppresses his own laughter at the situation as he does what he must to gently remove the disruptor.
What could have been a fun kind of topper to the scene would be for a Vatican employee or guard to replace the figurine with obvious gentle and due care (like -- as if the figurine were an actual child) back into the manger, putting the statuary back into the care of the other statuary, then doffing their hats, taking a knee, make a bow towards the "baby", stand up, give a quick wave at the onlookers, then trot off the scene.
I wonder if something like that did not follow. If there is a next time, I do hope a photo-op of that nature be recognized, filmed, then be part what circulates in world media.
