RE: Impossible today. Power plants, hospitals, must be fully staffed 24-7. Same for water plants and other utilities.
I don’t believe even the Israelis strictly keep their Sabbaths ( what if HAMAS attacks on a Saturday? Or Yom Kippur or Passover? ).
I have read that when the Roman General Pompey attacked Jerusalem, he planned the assault for the Sabbath day.
He took the city with NO resistance because the Jews refused to violate their Sabbath.
Mathew 12:11 He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
It would seem Jesus addressed that.
