The “good news” is sinners can be reconciled to God thru the Body of Christ as a result of his sinless life and sacrifice on the cross for the sins of the world.

What does "can be" mean?

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

They appealed to miracles, casting out demons, and Catholics appeal to baptism and communion.

Works is works...

Yep...God put those scriptures in the bible so we could recognize modern day pharisees...And we found them...

Yes, I lived in central New York for part of my childhood, and then about 30 years in Buffalo, which is almost 80% Catholic. I now live in the Bible belt, which is far from perfect itself, but where there is still a difference and is the place the Lord has me right now.

“can” means that if Jesus did not go to the cross and willingly give up His life as a sacrifice for the sins of the world, no human could stand in the presence of a Holy God since we are all sinners and were enemies of God.
but since the cross, the “good news” has been preached that Jesus stands at the door and knocks.......the Scriptures teach not everyone invites Him in.

Funny, I grew up Catholic in Buffalo and moved to CNY after I got married and have been here since.

We probably crossed paths at some point.
