And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

The Judgments that are coming, in the time of the apocalypse are reminiscent of the plagues of Egypt; hail and fire falling from heaven, the sea turning to blood, the fresh waters also turned to blood.

The whole world lies in the wicked one. The Anti-Christ is the new God defying Pharoah. The entire proud, technocratic, self-sufficient, God defying World is doomed, not just proud Egypt. Sinners shake their fists in the face of God, and harden their hearts, just as Pharoah once did.

Each trumpet calls forth another plague, one after another, in response to the prayers of all of the saints which had been gathered into a censor, offered to God and then flung to the earth.

As in Exodus, darkness will yet come also, a darkness that can be felt. This is a partial foretaste of the second death that the Most High warns about. It is as though he is pleading with men,“Do you now know what darkness really feels like?, Do you really want to thirst forever? Please consider and repent! Don’t go to Hell, I beseech you!”.

In these plagues, He gives the ultra sin hardened souls of the human race a foretaste of the horrors that await them, hoping it will turn them unto Him in repentance.

Another echo of Exodus is the fall of the poisoned star “Wormwood” into the fresh waters. It is the reversal of the story of the waters of Marah, in Exodus 15, when the congregation in the desert found water, but it was bitter and poisonous water.

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,(Exodus 15:23-25)

The gospel is in that story, for as Moses put a God designated tree in the waters to make them drinkable again, so the Lord has given us a tree, the cross of Jesus, to put into the poisoned water of our sinful life. The cross makes the sin poisoned waters sweet again.

But Wormwood is a typological reversal of the story. As a judgment on a world which has rejected the cross, a mountain falls from heaven and poisons the fresh waters of the earth. causing men to agonize in thirst.

Finally these trumpets are the reversal of something much more basic; Creation. In the beginning God said, “Let there be Light…” and all came into being. But at the end, God said, “Let there be darkness(Partial) over the earth. God said let the earth teem with trees, herbs, crops, but after the fire, Hail and blood fall, those blessings of life are consumed.

God gave the great Oceans and called them to teem with life also, but at the end, in judgment, the waters turn to blood and death is what teems in the Oceans. Already the badly burned, radiated and deformed fish are washing ashore in California, from the Fukushima reactor meltdown. This is a foretaste of the coming death of the Oceans.

As we saw in Revelation 6, by the time of the end, even the sky, which is so comforting night or day, reminding men everywhere that there is a higher, better and purer place where we can all know the freedom we long for (Heaven), will be rolled up as a scroll, and taken away. In judgment, even the blessings of the creation of God ar removed from defiant and sinful men.

I pray my readers will flee to the last Ark of safety, as Noah did in His own day. The last Ark is the person of Jesus Christ who came to deliver us from the wrath to come, by dying for our sins and reconciling us to His Father, God. Please call upon the name of Jesus while there is time, and break off from your sins, in the fear of God.

Who may abide the day of his coming, and who may stand when He appears?

This was all completed in 70 AD - we ARE now fully justified by faith and ARE fully restored to the relationship Adam had with God before the first sin. Jesus told his followers, when asked when the end of the age would happen, that their generation would see it all - and they did!
