I appreciate Goldberg recognizing right from wrong, but "What made medieval Christianity backward wasn’t Christianity but medievalism" is wrong also. In the Middle Ages societies had laws, at least in Europe. What do we have now? A clown scantily connected to this country rules it by executive order; the courts dictate rules of sexual behavior and approve homicidal behavior based on penumbras of their imagination; the only remaining democratic institution, the Congress, is despised universally by people who elect it -- and rightly so for it never seems to find the opportune moment to do what they are elected to do. Yet somehow "medievalism" is pejorative?
