Prayers for the little one.
I do have to clarify something that I obviously misstated. When I said that our family lost a boy a couple of weeks ago, this was my cousin’s child. That branch of the family has been hit hard. This was not my child. I was saying ‘family’ as referring to the larger, extended family and not my nuclear family.
Too many people have PMed me and I’m horrified that I misstated this so badly.
And thank you so much for your prayers. I know that the family is grateful.
A loss in the family of a youngster is still a loss.

We have an update on Ezra!!
“GOD IS GOOD!!!!! No challenge is too great for Team E!!!! Against all odds our little victor even surprised the surgical team when they said, “We gotta give it to him. He’s a tough kid!” But really, it’s a success for the whole team! Everyone each had a part in making the miraculous a reality! Ezra began with good CO2 numbers which became slightly elevated. With adjusted ventilator settings they decreased but we were maxed out and didn’t have “wiggle room” in case his lungs gave out. He maintained good numbers so he is now ECMO free!!!!!! Still holding strong and we will continue to monitor his blood gases. Ezra still has a perilous journey ahead but he has shown great strength in the face of adversity! We are so deeply moved by everyone’s support and thank God for his mercy!”
The little guy is off the vent! Improvements in EVERY area!
The family has requested continued prayers, as he’s not out of the woods, yet. But this is a miracle!
Two days ago, this little guy was pretty much done for. Now he’s breathing on his own for the first time in his life! :D
