Questions 1 and 2 may not be answerable. A lot of learning is by assimilation and not direct teaching. Someone was first person to teach me the memorial view of the Lord's Supper. Who was it? I don't know but I know it happened.
Questions 3 and 4 have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not someone was taught a doctrine or not. Just because it might not align with the Catholic Catechism doesn't mean that it wasn't taught.
Questions 5, 6, and 7 are basically none of your business. Question 5 could have the same problem as Questions 1 and 2. Just because someone decides not to answer some personal (and probably irrelevant questions) says nothing about the veracity of the original statement.
And there are millions of protestant sites, all teaching different things.
Is what you posted official church doctrine?
No.
Show me one that claims that "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved" is not enough.
>>Is what you posted official church doctrine?<<
I post scripture. I realize that's not good enough for Catholics but it was good enough for Jesus and that apostles and those who were saved during their lifetimes.
Chapter and verse: 1) women ministers.
2) Homosexual marriage.
3) Altar calls
ETC....
So you got nothing, got it.
I’m not offended. I expect no less of some people and will not let them get the best of me.
You are spot on with your assessment of the questions becuase unless they are given the answers the questioner wants to hear, they will be dismissed anyway.
Which is largely why I ignore the attempted provocation by certain individuals.
No,sorry, never mention you or ask for your assistance in helping others. You didn’t carry Jesus in your womb and retain a few cells from His placental presence, or lot s of other personal things shared by a Mother and her Child when Jesus was a child. So no, I never bring you up. But I shall start to hereafter, in asking that Mary perhaps help you with your confusion.
Nobody taught me that Mary was God or to worship her as such, nevertheless, as evidenced by the abundant evidence, that’s how many Catholics relate to her.
Official RCC teaching doesn’t seem to go anywhere in stopping all kinds of unscriptural and uncondoned behavior and practices amongst Catholic laity.
Appealing to official RCC doctrine is meaningless in light pf what goes on in practice and is not stopped by the RCC therefore, giving the behavior their stamp of approval.
There you go, trying to make sense on the RF.
An exercise in futility, most likely.
You were never taught it, because it is not part of Catholic teaching officially or unofficially. That is the only part of your statement that matters.
So if you by your own admission were never taught it then why would you make the error that others have been taught it? We tell you on a regular and constant basis that we weren't.
Chapter and verse:
1) women ministers:. Titus 1:5-9
2) Homosexual marriage.
Romans 1 makes it clear homosexuality is wrong and thus homosexual marriage.
3) Altar calls
Acts 2:37-41
ETC....
Now...you explain, with chapter and verse, where the catholic church receives its direction on the following:
the dress of the pope and the cardinals and bishops
where does the office of cardinal come from?
burning incense?
lighting candles to Mary?
sprinkling of babies
indulgences
Mary remained a virgin
etc
A straw man question, as metmom did not claim that those Catholics that think "Mary was God or [to] worship her as such" were taught that.
Catholics do not have to be 'taught' that, they are just doing what they observe others of their faith doing.
It all comes from elevating Mary above what scripture reveals about her, wo it is an easy mistake to make.
Gosh, I just quoted a Catholic saying "the mother God" referring to Mary.
The "error" is yours in your apparent obvious assumpion. Kind of like mindreading.
Why do your churches permit and in many cases promote women ministers, and homosexual marriage, since it is against the word of God?
BTW the way I don't see the sinners prayer in Acts 2:37-41, sorry doesn't qualify.
Don't forget about the artwork in the churches, such as Jesus kneeling before Mary placing a crown on her head.
Mary seems to be the central figure in Catholicism these days.
A multi-billion dollar money maker.
You forgot the plus.
Why do your churches permit and in many cases promote women ministers, and homosexual marriage, since it is against the word of God?
The church I attend doesn't.
Why does your church promote false teachings on Mary and worship Mary?
Why does your church forbid ministers to marry? There is no prohibition in the Word on ministers marrying.
BTW the way I don't see the sinners prayer in Acts 2:37-41, sorry doesn't qualify.
Never said it was a sinner's prayer. You asked about altar calls which Acts 2:37-41 is certainly one. It is an invitation to which many responded.
Waiting on your answers to my questions.
The first lesson is that God has chosen Mary to lead us to Jesus. No matter what critics may say of the devotion of Mexicans (and Mexican descendants) to Our Lady of Guadalupe, they owe their Christianity to her influence. If it were not for her, they would not know her son, and so they are eternally grateful.
Mary never appeared on the road to anywhere in the bible...It was always Jesus who appeared...Is there any confirmation from God that this 'ghost' is sent from Him???
Why wouldn't those people know her son (btw, her Son's name is Jesus Christ, the God of all Creation) without Mary??? Millions upon millions of people know Jesus Christ without the influence of Mary...
You never watched when one of your recent popes prayed TO Mary and thanked her for saving his life after he had been shot???
For the same reason you Catholics worship Mary and have unmarried clergy...You/they don't believe the scriptures of God...
What a wonderful testament. But why can’t we Catholics have a sharing of faith without the bombardment of slurs from others. I was a Southern Baptist who converted at 40 to the Church. I finally had found home. Welcome.
