In that moment, Jesus gave His mother a son; and gave His Church a mother.

DANG!!

I missed that part!

**Well, consider this: When Christ was crucified, where was the Church? For the most part, the “Church” — all of Jesus’ select men, His right-hand men —— had high-tailed it and headed for the tall grass. Everyone had betrayed, denied, or abandoned Jesus in His hour of need.
Th tiny remnant-— the faithful Church -— consisted of those at the foot of the Cross.**

NOT ONE, NOT MARY, NOT JOHN, NONE of them was SIDE BY SIDE with Jesus Christ as he was led from the garden, and into the interrogations from Annas, Caiaphas, Pilate, Herod, then Pilate again, and whipped and beaten, and mocked, and crowned with thorns, and given the cross to bear.

THEY...were...not...beside him......until his death was assured.

They weren’t heroic. They were just weak in the flesh, fulfilling the prophecy as well.

**The mothering relationship is reiterated very strongly in Revelation 12, when the Lady of the Sign, the Great Sign in the Heavens, is revealed to be none other than the Mother of the Savior (v.5) and the Mother of the Church (v.17):**

STILL skipping verse 6.

**The catholic idolatry of Mary seems to cloud every verse the catholic reads.**

Not only that, they see her clearly in grilled cheese sandwiches, salt stained viaduct supports, etc. If that ain’t programming I don’t know what is.

Pssssst this was a Catholic thread started by a Catholic, about Catholic teaching.

Pssssst this may have been a Catholic thread started by a Catholic, about Catholic teaching but it was posted as an OPEN thread inviting others to discuss whether or not that so-called "Catholic" teaching was really catholic (of the whole/universal). As has been shown, it wasn't. Y'all should stick to Caucus threads if you can't take the opposition.

Ealgeone jumps on this bandwagon and proclaims with certitude of a theologian about the “non-biblical teachings including their position on Mary.” Let Ambrose of Milan answer this:

Again, I stand by my comments regarding the unbiblical position of the rcc on Mary. As an example of Rome's false teachings.....

"Mary is the intermediary through whom is distributed unto us this immense treasure of mercies gathered by God, for mercy and truth were created by Jesus Christ. Thus as no man goeth to the Father but by the Son, so no man goeth to Christ but by His Mother." (OCTOBRI MENSE ENCYCLICAL OF POPE LEO XIII ON THE ROSARY http://w2.vatican.va/content/leo-Xiii/en/encyclicals/documents/hf_l-xiii_enc_22091891_octobri-mense.html)1.

Now...compare to Scripture.

1 Tim. 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

“Imitate her [Mary], holy mothers, who in her only dearly beloved Son set forth so great an example of maternal virtue; for neither have you sweeter children [than Jesus], nor did the Virgin seek the consolation of being able to bear another son” (Letters 63:111 [A.D. 388]).

If Ambrose were on this board the RM would caution him on reading minds.

Wrong again, as usual! Hopefully, one day you will finally get around to knowing what sola Scriptura means and what it doesn't mean.

**Zuriel’s analysis is a riot. First it was about lack of belief by Catholics in the literal six day creation**

I haven’t been involved in the creation debate for a year or so.

**then it was because the devil allows large churches and basilicas to be built, forgetting how the monumental Temple of Solomon was built to house the Ark of the Convent**

I didn’t forget, I just didn’t include it in a list of places of worship inspired by the devil.

Still no answers from you, though, on what lines you think the devil WON”T cross.

**Now Zuriel is onto another riddle. She wants to know whether the Eucharist “wears out”? Is this the level of serious inquiry or what?**

Your church claims it to be necessary for eternal life. Does one dose get the job done? 10? 100? 1,000?, 1,000,000?
If one doesn’t get the job done,....then....why...not?

You claim you are eating God, then why the need to repeat? How much eating of God is sufficient for eternal life?

How about REALLY answering for a change, instead of acting like a (biased) debate observer?

**Now Zuriel is onto another riddle. She wants**

Just how hard do you work at research? A simple look at my home page will tell you I’m a ‘he’. I have no clue about you.

Mrs. Don-o quoted the scripture to you explaining everything to you. In typical Mea Scriputraist you twisted it to be unrecognizable.

So, posting a complete passage of Scripture rather than a snippet to prove ones point is "twisting it to be unrecognizable"? Getta grip! Mrs. D, bless her soul, is quoting the typical RC appealing-to-Scripture propaganda that only works as long as nobody keeps on reading. When they do, it's plain to see the patchwork, kidnap ransom-letter style of quoting God's word is false.

I am praying that God comes into your mind and opens it to the truth and softens your heart as well.

CB's heart and mind HAVE been opened and softened to receive the truth from Almighty God. It's how he is able to continue to clarify the gospel in the midst of a perverted and accursed on.

>>I haven’t been involved in the creation debate for a year or so.<<

I think that was me you're discussing. According to the ccc catholics view the Genesis account as "symbolic"....not a literal creation.

If you don't get the beginning right, you're bound to get a lot of the rest wrong.

Mea Scripturaista

Is this the newest pejorative being used against fellow Christians who believe the Bible is the primary authority for the rule of the Christian faith or is it your own "witty" creation?

Dear boatbums,

Well, you will need to forgive me, as I'm a goo-goo-eyed romantic only just married. It's only been 31 years and so I still get that woozy feeling when I think of my wife.
