Card. Rodriguez Maradiaga: ongoing synodal process until result is obtained?
Fr. Z's Blog ^ | 4/15/15 | Fr. Z

At the Italian site Nuova Bussola, we find the observations of Oscar Card. Rodriguez Maradiaga about the possibility of Communion for the divorced and remarried.

Impossible? “No!”, says the Cardinal.

And if the upcoming Synod rejects the proposal, the Kasperite Solution, hey!… maybe there could be a third synod on the question!

And His Eminence seems to be putting a great deal of stock in polls.

I’m in my car in a parking lot, so I can’t do the translation at the time of this posting.

Ongoing synods until the desired result is obtained?

Just like leftists, keep trying until you win and then declare the matter closed for good.

Maradiaga, of course, was hand-picked by Francis to be a member of the pope’s Gang o’ Nine. And despite Maradiaga’s earlier advocacies for Holy Communion for unrepentant adulterers, he remains a member of the Gang. As do the heretics: Sean O’Malley and Reinhard Marx.

Not a very supportive statement of Church teaching, but not heresy, since O’Malley didn’t found the Church, thank goodness.

Cardinal O’Malley is called a heretic. I ask for evidence. I was sent a link to an article where O’Malley said if he had founded the Church, he would have provided for female priests. My response states Cardinal O’Malley’s statement is not supportive of or helpful to Catholic teaching, but it is not heretical, since he is not calling for women’s ordination, just saying if he were Jesus, he wouldn’t have done what Jesus did.

Ah, OK I get your point now. I guess it would have helped if I actually read through the previous posts....lol. Sorry.

Having said that, Modernist heretics are really good at not coming right out and saying what they really mean. The fact that he is participating in a non-Catholic ceremony (which was always condemned by the Catholic Church) is more evidence that he is a heretic.

False interpretation of true doctrine falls within the definition of heresy. This woman is parodying the priesthood with Cardinal O'Malley's smiling participation. His promotion of material heresy is clear for all to see.

His statement that were he to start a church he would “love to have women priests” is objectively blasphemous, since it is an implied criticism of Christ.

So, Venerable Brethren, it is clear why this Apostolic See has never allowed its subjects to take part in the assemblies of non-Catholics: for the union of Christians can only be promoted by promoting the return to the one true Church of Christ of those who are separated from it, for in the past they have unhappily left it. To the one true Church of Christ, we say, which is visible to all, and which is to remain, according to the will of its Author, exactly the same as He instituted it. During the lapse of centuries, the mystical Spouse of Christ has never been contaminated, nor can she ever in the future be contaminated, as Cyprian bears witness: "The Bride of Christ cannot be made false to her Spouse: she is incorrupt and modest. She knows but one dwelling, she guards the sanctity of the nuptial chamber chastely and modestly."[20] The same holy Martyr with good reason marveled exceedingly that anyone could believe that "this unity in the Church which arises from a divine foundation, and which is knit together by heavenly sacraments, could be rent and torn asunder by the force of contrary wills."[21] For since the mystical body of Christ, in the same manner as His physical body, is one,[22] compacted and fitly joined together,[23] it were foolish and out of place to say that the mystical body is made up of members which are disunited and scattered abroad: whosoever therefore is not united with the body is no member of it, neither is he in communion with Christ its head.[24] (Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos, January 6, 1928.)

Yes, thank you. I’m very familiar with this Catholic teaching. Unfortunately, most Catholics are not and most of the hierarchy pretend it’s old news.
