Heavenly Father –
As we approach the 70th anniversary of VE Day on May 8th, may we remember all those who sacrificed for freedom and resisted the evil juggernaut rolling up the map of Europe. May the examples of these heroes give up courage in our times to stand for what is right as they did during dark days.
Grant us Your Wisdom to discern the right. Fill us, Lord, with the Holy Spirit. Equip us to fight the Evil One. With Your power, may we tear down the spiritual strongholds that enslave the entire world.
Bless all those who sacrifice and put themselves in harm’s way – home and abroad – to keep us safe. Protect them from the enemy on all fronts. Give a special grace to all those who suffer and are persecuted for Your Name’s sake.
May we return to the faith of founders so that our nation may glorify Your Name. May America become a blessing in this world and the world to come.
