Gallup Finds American Opinion Moving Strongly Toward Acceptance of Extra-Marital Sex

A new Gallup poll finds that since 2001, American opinion has shifted markedly toward acceptance of extra-marital sexual behavior.

The poll found that between 2001 and 2015 there have been sharp increases in the number of Americans who say that it is “acceptable” to engage in homosexual relations or to give birth to a child outside wedlock, or obtain a divorce.

The poll also found substantially more support for assisted suicide, the cloning of human beings, and polygamy. Remarkably, the survey showed only a slight increase in acceptance of abortion.

According to the Gallup findings, the overwhelming majority of Americans accept the use of birth control (89 to 8%), divorce (71- 20%), sexual relations outside marriage (68- 29%), homosexual activity (63- 34%), and research on tissues obtained from human embryos (64- 29%).

I have known people who decided they would have an 'open marriage'. Not one couple was still together after 5 years.

IMHO, that says it all.

They clearly have not polled my wife, any of her friends, or any of the married women we know.

Opinion Moving Strongly Toward Acceptance of Extra-Marital Sex

I'll go along with the Extra part..not the extra-marital.

My wife said I could have a roll in the hay with a hot 30 something if........

If a hot 30 yo came on to me completely on her own and *offered* sex with no encouragement from me.

So, to recap my wife’s generosity (har har), if I am in line at Kroger and a foxy young woman comes up to me and whispers in my ear, “come home with me and I will ball your brains out”, I am allowed to accept.

Pretty sure that’s never going to happen. LOL

In the year 2000 CA passed prop. 22 by 61%. It was overturned by the state SC. Then in 2008 CA passed prop. 8 by 52%. It was overturned by federal judges. But forget the judges for a second and concentrate on the actual voters. CA lost 9% in 8 years with actual voters on ‘gay marriage.’ In the year 2012 NC passed its amendment by 61% and was heralded as an overwhelming victory. The voters of NC and CA have exactly 12 years separating them on the issue, something no one would have predicted in 2000.

And that’s actual votes, not what strangers decide to tell other strangers over the phone about what they think of ‘gay marriage.’

I am sure that there is a study that shows that an “open marriage” dooms a marriage. Maybe the marriage was already doomed in the first place.

Once we forced the schools to teach evolution and BANNED school prayer and the Bible, it was only a matter if time until we saw a complete breakdown of social values and morality. If we’re just animals and there’s no God, then there is no standard for right and wrong. In fact, right and wrong cease to exists as ideas.

We can turn this around ONLY if we get out of the government school business and put education in the hands of parents and churches - as the Founding Fathers intended.

The Bible should return to being the number one textbook used by all schools, for all grades.

Just to be clear

...sexual relations outside marriage (68- 29%)...

is sexual relations for unmarried people. Not good, but it may not be the horror that you may have thought:

The poll notes that for married men and women having an affair, 8% thought it was morally acceptable and 89% thought it was morally unacceptable.

Maybe in Hollywood amongst people like Will Smith. Even here, where I live in CA, I know more people against this kind of crap than I do for it. Then again I don’t befriend trash, so maybe that’s why.

That’s the problem with this crap. They twist questions and people don’t realize it. I don’t believe this polls at all.

Well, if these things are all lumped together....

"Do you feel it is acceptable to kill white people or rape their women or eat sugar cookies?" (Person reads question, decides it is okay to eat sugar cookies, answers yes)

HEADLINE: "87% OF AMERICANS FEEL IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO KILL WHITE PEOPLE OR RAPE THEIR WOMEN"
