I’ve just always accepted that people who do really nice and descent things are good people and God is pleased.
My God’s not as harsh as yours :)

Well, it does say that we will be judged on things like feeding the hungry...clothe the naked...” When did we see you hungry...when did we see you naked...”

YES, THEY CAN ACCEPT JESUS AS THEIR LORD AND SAVIOR.

THE FAITH OF THAT ACT PLEASES GOD.

"God commands all men everywhere to repent" ...the only thing fallen man can do is respond to God's indictment against mankind in his Word and Repent and accept God's sacrifice...

Can the natural man make choices all the time for things that are good and evil?

Begs the question.

The entire reason Humans sinned in the Garden was taking the fruit from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

God had warned not to eat from that tree lest we would surely die.

There are reasons why He explicitly said what He did about the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and reasons why He didn't say any more than what He did.

Now sin has entered the world, we all have the ability to know good and evil.

That isn't necessarily a good thing.

Additionally, note that salvation is NOT dependent upon that knowledge.

Man now too easily confuses good and evil, with God and remaining in fellowship with Him in His Plan. When we slip into performing good, thinking He will approve and be pleased, we begin to perform works and think we have a return for that work. It is a type of works based salvation, instead of simple faith alone in what Christ performed on the Cross.

The natural man attempting to earn a works based salvation blasphemes the work of God and Christ Jesus on the Cross.

“There was a man in Caesarea by the name of Cornelius, a centurion in what was called the Italian Regiment. He was a deeply religious man who reverenced God, as did all his household. He made many charitable gifts to the people and was a real man of prayer. About three o’clock one afternoon he saw perfectly clearly in a dream an angel of God coming into his room, approaching him, and saying, “Cornelius!”

4a He stared at the angel in terror, and said, “What is it, Lord?”

4b-6 The angel replied, “Your prayers and your deeds of charity have gone up to Heaven and are remembered before God. Now send men to Joppa for a man called Simon, who is also known as Peter. He is staying as a guest with another Simon, a tanner, whose house is down by the sea.”

.....44-46a While Peter was still speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to his message. The Jewish believers who had come with Peter were absolutely amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit was being poured out on Gentiles also; for they heard them speaking in foreign tongues and glorifying God.

46b-47 Then Peter exclaimed, “Could anyone refuse water or object to these men being baptised—men who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did ourselves?”

48 And he gave orders for them to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. Afterwards they asked him to stay with them for some days.

Jesus Christ Himself said :
John3:21 But he that doth truth, cometh to the light, that his works may be made manifest, because they are done in God.

If the works will be made manifest they're pleasing to God.

In that we’re all staring enemy islamism in the face shouldn’t Christians and Jews be seeking common ground rather than engaging in this constant doctrinal bickering?

John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

You can't please God without believing in His Son and you can't believe in His Son unless it has been granted to you.

And of course Catholics say you can’t have Jesus without first coming to His mother, yadda yadda.
