It’s staggering how so many Catholics think sex between a husband and wife is dirty and sinful.

And where did you get such an absurd idea? Cannot attack the real Catholic Church so you have to make one up that you can?

Rome responds by relegating His sacrifice to the background . . .

Dang, the anti-Catholic crowd can't keep their lies straight?

One day they whine and moan about the Crucifix being in every Catholic Church, the next day they whine about His sacrifice on the cross being "in the background".

Another cathy with nothing to refute the article except to call names. Right out of the Obama alinsky playbook.

I think it is more than an “absurd idea”. It’s an untruth.

If that opening paragraph offends you, you are probably a Catholic.

They get really upset when a spade is called a spade.

Just to nitpick, I do not believe that there was meconium in Mary’s amniotic fluid. I believe that neither Mary nor Jesus were in any distress whatsoever at the time of His delivery, that baby Jesus was perfect in every way, and that included His health.

Would it be too much to ask just WHY you believe or do not believe these things?

Genesis 3:16

To the woman he said,

“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;
with painful labor you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you.

It's all Mary's fault.

Well; Rome's 'Mary' anyway...

And where did you get such an absurd idea?

Joseph:  Mary; are you asleep?
Mary: You bozo; you KNOW I have to do my prayers.

Joseph:  I was just wondering if....
Mary: You hornytoad;  you KNOW I have had this HEADACHE for nigh unto these 12 years or so!

Joseph:  A fella can HOPE eternally; can't he?
Mary: Hope all you want; you ain't gettin' it:   I HAVE to remain a VIRGIN for my FOLLOWERS!!

Joseph:  What 'followers'?
Mary: The ones who will be bombarding me forEVER with their heartfelt requests!!!

Joseph:  I may as well be dead...
Mary: What did you just mumble?  I ain't DEAD; just FRIGID.  Now roll OVER and go to sleep.

Mary: Son? are  You listening??   I've got a bunch more good, Catholic prayers for you to deal with.  Ready?

It’s an untruth.

The Roman Catholic Church has turned the beautiful, blessed lady of Scripture into an asexual, frigid Jewish wife; who withheld her favors from Joseph for no rational reason.

“” I’ll never understand why you want to convert Christians to your flavor of Christianity. I really don’t want to understand your way of thinking either.””

How is this much different than “If you ain’t Catholic, you ain’t Christian” threads out there.

Besides this one citing and excerpting actual documents.

No different than the Catholic anti-protestant threads except more accuracy here.

"It’s staggering how so many Catholics think sex between a husband and wife is dirty and sinful."

It's staggering how I could be 63 years old, have known or personally corresponded with many hundreds of Catholics, have read Himalayan stacks of Catholic books and periodicals, have visit Catholic websites, English and Spanish language, from far-right-to-far-left,the ones I consider doctrinally sound and even the ones I, personally, think are like Kellogg's, full of flakes and nuts --- and have never met one single, solitary Catholic who thought sex between a husband and wife is dirty and sinful.

Where do you hang out, what kind of selection-filter are you using, how separated are you from actual reality, how immersed are you in your own propaganda, that you find this even remotely credible?

.

If you are serious about knowing what the Catholic Church actually teaches, one can read the Catechism online. If you prefer a book with an index, etc, it can be purchased.

Now, what one reads here from the original poster, is one person’s view, of what they think, the Catholic Church teaches. That’s like asking a man what women actually think. In other words, not very accurate.

Here it is, straight from the Vatican: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_INDEX.HTM
