A longstanding and well-beloved member of this Forum (anonymous, so if you know the man, please do not reveal his name) tomorrow will be ordained as a priest of Jesus Christ. He has requested this thread so that prayers may be offered. Please join me in thanksgiving and petition that his vocation will be fruitful and joyous: Heavenly Father, grant these and other blessings unto thy servant, for thy glory and the salvation of souls. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Ad multos annos, gloriosque annos, vivas, vivas, vivas!
And he is now a priest!
(" Behold, I have graven thee in my hands: thy walls are always before my eyes.")
God Bless you, Father!
Regards,
Lord Jesus Christ, bless Thy servant and grant him faith and fortitude.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Prayers for tomorrow’s ordination, and a long life of service to the Lord. To be called is such a blessing. What an honor.
Amen! One more man to help banish the darkness and feed “my sheep.”
Thanks Slim for your gracious freepmail:
Cant post to the thread not being Catholic, but convey my sincere congratulations to the FReeper in question.
Slim
I know his FR name and will pray for him, God Bless Him.
I’ve been praying for my pastor and will add this anonymous priest to my prayers. Thanks for providing the opportunity to do so.
Such wonderful news!
Got licensed as a caregiver last fall and now working doing something I know for a fact I’d do for free.
It’s nice to have something more along the lines of a vocation.
Good to hear from you; hope all are well. We are in process of moving across the lake; everything still blowing & going at St. P’s.
Love in the Ruins was the first book I read in New Orleans, no furniture, out on the St. Peter balcony. I’m guessing it’s that time, then, if you’re decamping all but Camp Street.
All best with the move and new digs and please give my best to those I know and love and miss very much.
Bought my first copy in Rome in my college days, at the recommendation of the Greenville-born father of my girlfriend. Re-read LITR just this year. Yes, coming true before our eyes. I expect great satisfaction in dwelling not much more than a stone’s throw from the old Percy place on the banks of the mighty Bogue Falaya.
St. Joseph will get buried in about a week, with the prayer that he help me unload the uptown house on some trust-funded hipster desperate to live the Big Easy Dream. We are getting gentrified out. Shocking but true.
