Christians follow Christ. Protestants follow their own individual interpretations of their preferred Bible(s).
Protestants follow the Bible the Catholic Church thoughtfully created for them, while disavowing everything else that the Church created. So you get "Reverends" like Jackson, Sharpton, Jimmy Swaggert, Tammy Baker and her husband ... and the snake handling sects, and the Mormons..
