In 1931, our Lord appeared to St. Faustina in a vision. She saw Jesus clothed in a white garment with His right hand raised in blessing. His left hand was touching His garment in the area of the Heart, from where two large rays came forth, one red and the other pale. She gazed intently at the Lord in silence, her soul filled with awe, but also with great joy. Jesus said to her:
Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You. I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory (Diary, 47, 48).
Trust in Jesus is the essence of the message of mercy. In repeated revelations to St. Faustina, Our Divine Savior makes it clear that the fountain is His Heart, the water is His mercy, and the vessel is trust.
I have opened My Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all souls draw life from it. Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust (Diary, 1520). On the cross, the fountain of My mercy was opened wide by the lance for all souls no one have I excluded! (1182). I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: "Jesus, I trust in You" (327). The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive (1578).I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls (1074).
How simple yet so timely. The Divine Mercy and the Second Coming
So, dear friend, as society crumbles around us, you have a place to turn - "Jesus, I trust in you". He will not fail you.
Amen!!! So True!!!!!
Fwiw, just like I've experienced reading the many accounts of Mary' visitations, I have had a similar experience reading the accounts of Jesus' visitations. Same voice and style and similar messages in all the encounters I've read about, just like I've experienced with Mary.
These accounts, such as virtually all of True Life In God, were new to me and I was astonished to find such accounts in modern times where, just like in the old days, God speaks to us now in our times and language(!!!).
Since no one had ever mentioned these things, I thought that they also hadn't heard of these things and would have a similar reaction to this new and astonishing material as I have had and do.
This has absolutely NOT been the case.
Yes, I do realize how naive I am about some things (usually well after the fact), but these reactions truly surprised me and it's taken me a while to accept this reality.
Thanks again for showing me St. Faustina's painting!
