Catholic priest reports getting spit on at gay marriage parade [Fr Jonathan Morris]
Bizpac Review ^ | 6-29-15 | Michael Dorstewitz

If Friday’s Supreme Court ruling making same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states has demonstrated anything, it’s that the left is a mob of sore, ungracious winners.

Jonathan Morris, author and parish priest at at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church in the Bronx, N.Y., tweeted this gentle reminder of how we should conduct ourselves:

---------

The greatest evidence of authentic good will…is the way we treat people with whom we passionately disagree.

— Fr. Jonathan Morris (@fatherjonathan) June 27, 2015

----------

Apparently at least two people didn’t get the message. The following day he tweeted:

-------------

Walking down Broadway and 22nd St just now, I ran into gay marriage parade. Two men walked by and spat on me. Oh well… I deserve worse. — Fr. Jonathan Morris (@fatherjonathan) June 28, 2015

-------------

And talk about grace — Morris followed up with this one:

---------------

The two men who spat on me are probably very good man caught up in excitement and past resentment. Most in that parade would not do that.

— Fr. Jonathan Morris (@fatherjonathan) June 28, 2015

Fr. Morris is not just any Catholic priest; he is also a well-known media figure on Fox and followed by a lot of people.

Only the conservatives are being told we MUST act with patience and lack of anger.

Anyone still think that homosexuality, which is an abomination to God, comes from the pits of Hell?

They’ve gotten everything they’ve ever dreamed of and they still have insatiable hate and rage.

There is a similar level of malcontent with the blood-thirsty culture of death, rooted in abortion.

Phony sanctimony. There is nothing in scripture that justifies such an attitude. Yes, in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said turn the other cheek. But that was hyperbole. How do we know? Because in John 18 when He was slapped on the cheek, He protested.

This obscene notion that Christians are required to show spirituality by letting these animals walk all over us is nonsense. And unless we start injecting some common sense into our faith, we're inviting these filthy creatures to walk all over our children and grandchildren. This garbage has to end.

And the good Father will continue to get spit on until the day he knocks their teeth out - and then asks God for forgiveness.

How about the verses that describe loving your enemies and not just loving your friends?

The next civil war is coming, and we’ll soon have use for all those banned confederate flags.

If your twelve year old child spits on you, can you remedy that action while still loving him? Did Jesus love the money changers when He threw them out of the temple?

You've got an incorrect understanding of love. Not to mention that in scripture there are different words for different degrees of love.

"Loving" my enemy does not demand I acquiesce to his demands. If that were the case then Christianity would have been erased from the world in the first century.

Clearly hyperbole.

Mt 5:43-48

Jesus said to his disciples: “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Isaiah 50:6 I have given my body to the strikers, and my cheeks to them that plucked them: I have not turned away my face from them that rebuked me, and spit upon me.

>>>>>>>Yes, in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said turn the other cheek. But that was hyperbole

Okay...

How about the verses that describe loving your enemies and not just loving your friends?

What does it mean, "to love"?

To love another person is to know, will, and do the good of that person.

Sodomy is good for nobody. Sodomy is a foul sin from the pit of Hell; to claim otherwise is to repeat demonic lies.

If we are to love the poor, deluded, sin-sick souls ensnared in the sodomite lifestyle our first and foremost duty to them ... that which is most good for them ... is to TELL THEM THE TRUTH.

Make no mistake ... sin destroys life in this world and the next. SODOMY IS SIN. SODOMY IS DEATH AND DESTRUCTION. If we love them, we must not hesitate in telling them so.

“What would Jesus do?”

Opening up a can of whupass in the Temple is a viable option at this point...

How about caring for your children, for example?

1 Tim 5:8: But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Is it our responsibility to provide for our children? To provide food? Clothing? Safety? Safety from vile humans who will deny them their faith?

Your false sanctimony is neither logical nor biblical. You fail to understand the context of those passages which you're taking out of context.

How about war? Can a Christian go to war? As a Christian, can I go into the field of battle and end the life of the enemy?
