Republican presidential candidate and unabashed billionaire Donald Trump is touting his Christian roots as a proud Presbyterian and has pledged to be the greatest representative of Christians in office, if he becomes president.

In an interview with CBN less than a month before he announced his run for president on June 16, Trump — who currently leads all candidates for the GOP's nomination according to recent polls — touted his faith and promised that if he becomes president, he would be the best representative of Christians in the White House that America has seen in a long time.

"First of all I'm Protestant. I'm Presbyterian. I'm proud of it. I'm very proud of it," Trump told CBN's David Brody. "Believe me, if I run and I win, I will be the greatest representative of the Christians that they've had in a long time."

Two Saturdays ago in Las Vegas, Nevada, Trump criticized the Obama administration for helping more Muslims from Syria immigrate to the United States than Christians, and touched on the persecution of Christians again during a campaign rally speech on Tuesday....

it’s supposed to be humor based on that and on the fact that he’s running for office. Yes.

Some of you may or may not be familiar with Peter Marshall. He was Chaplain of the Senate. He was a wonderful Christian man - born in Scotland, and a Presbyterian. His wife and widow, Catherine Marshall wrote several books, and her most famous was, “Christy,” which was made into a movie and later - a TV series. A little more about Peter: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Marshall_%28preacher%29

From what I understand, he attends every Sunday. Look, he may not be the most conservative person, nor Christian, but, God does look at the heart. So, I’ll leave the heart judging up to God and watch for fruits in Trump’s life. By their fruits ye shall know them. Obama has nothing but rotten fruit on the tree of his life. Trump has done some wonderful things for humanity and many we may never know about.

Just because Trump says something doesn’t mean some of the other candidates haven’t said it, too. Unfortunately, the media isn’t paying much attention to the others.

I think Trump is probably going to reveal the details when he next appears on WWE Monday Night Raw. During the Christian steel cage segment.

But I could be wrong.

Until The Donald talked about the Muslim Syrians coming here but not the Christian Syrians, I had no idea.

Like him or not, he is bringing Issues forward that would never had been part of the Public Discourse.

You have to ask why the Media can’t hide these things anymore. The simple answer is Trump’s Celebrity which is not a detriment BTW.

If Senator Cruz brought these same subjects to light, he would be summarily dismissed by the Hyena Media.

Dr. D. James Kennedy was a Presby. James Montgomery Boyce, ditto. Dr. Donald Gray Barnhouse, an outstanding Bible teacher, I’m pretty sure was a Presby. I think he was from 10th Presby. in Philadelphia prior to Boyce. Both amazing Bible expositors and teachers. One branch of Presbys is still pretty sound. The other made a left turn and disappeared over a cliff./S

I will see which variety Trump belongs to in Queens.

"Which branch of Presbys? One is pretty strong fundamental. The other is flaming liberal."

According to the Washington Times and many other sites, "Presbyterian Church (USA)." [W. Scott Lamb, "Donald Trump is a Presbyterian? Who knew?," Sunday, July 19, 2015.]

Better than O’Malley apologizing for saying All Lives Matter. Okay that is a low bar, just above Obama. Seriously, thought, isn’t it refreshing to have a candidate who says what he wants and stands by it? That alone will earn him votes.

Churchill wasn’t exactly an active Christian, but he wound up saving Western Civilization just the same.
